Have seen sections of it both in Qld and South Aus. a few years back. My wife's friend up until about 5 years ago ran a business with her husband which involved 4WD tours into the Aus. outback. Me and my wife went occasionally if the itinerary suited us.

Also in WA there is a Rabbit Proof fence which runs for over 3000 km. A film featuring it was made in 2002 called 'Rabbit Proof Fence' which is important in relation to Aus history with regard to the treatment of indigenous children. Kenneth Branagh is in the film.
