Did we stutter in the second period when Gale went off , can’t remember when he left the field in that period , was on toilet duties with the grandkids and saw more of the urinals than the game for large chunks in the second half

Hope the Grandkids managed to sort you out every time they took you Ketty.......

Discipline was the only think that probably needs tightening as that’s the only way York got near our line. There were some truly strange calls from the ref though. Thought we were very harshly reffed which was strange for a team completely dominant in all areas.

The defence was brutal and bone crunching, long may that continue.

The side looked well drilled and fit.

Uele as mentioned was very strong in the middle but so were the the wvole forward pack.

Thornley looked dangerous running off back of Mcgillvrays runs. By contrast Pratt and Walmsley look a very agile left side and there was good space been made that side.

Good professional performance that.

TBF to the players some of the discipline was more down to the strange decisions of the ref.
Thought the speed and fitness of the team was light years away from last season and there were some impressive performances as has been mentioned.

The flag isn't the issue, that's a personal joke between lads who follow us everywhere, they weren't involved in the trouble but unfortunately was stood near where it happened

Can't say as I'm a fan of that flag being waved in front of kids but if it's going to be waved again in front of a more selective audience on a private bus or in a pub I suggest a picture of Sean Bean should be added just to emphasise the gist.

the lads in question are a fantastic bunch of people, very respectful and polite, they follow the team all over and they live and breathe our club. They are exactly the type of fans we want at our club. They've had a joke amongst themselves and to be honest it's no different to calling kendal or child
Or any other ref a f ING cheat or any other explicit in front of children. These lads were not the cause of any trouble NONE

I thought it was a very professional performance in the first competetive game of our new era. Thought Atoni did some big minutes, Uele looks a different player to the one at Headingley. Also not a Lino fan, but apart from the stutter in his passing movement thought he went OK

Tbf to Lino, I've just listened to DP's post-match interview and neither he nor Gale has done much work the past 2 weeks, just concentrating on getting back to fitness, so considering that he went well, especially that first half imo.
On Uele, even in that boxing day game, since he'd just fallen off a plane, you could see glimpses of what he would be capable of as the season went on and he got fitter and used to the British game and teammates, etc, we could potentially have a Big Dave replacement on our hands. It's a pretty formidable pack already and we haven't even seen Vagana or Bane, so when they're both up to speed, it's exciting times.
