I think Powell knows exactly what he wants from his halfbacks, you only need to look at how his teams have played in the past.
If Lino can step up and play the role Powell expects then he might well be the man for the job going forward. If not then I doubt he’ll be here next season.

In all fairness to Powell the 6,7,and 9, were on contracts before he arrived.Do not think any of them would be any were near the team ,if Powell had been given the choice ,is teams had a fast spine

Very true.

These positions could be major pieces of the jigsaw later in the year, in readiness, for hopefully a return to super league in 2025.

I can't imagine Gale will play after this year.
Lino is very much on trial this year
Lawford has bags of potential so is kinda also on trial.
Hood I'm not sure for SL. I like him but when you look at other teams I don't think he's close to top half of them.

If we are going for marquees in SL I'd suggest one should be a 6 or 7.

I agree with that. Either mid season this year in prep for next year or next season a top quality 6 or 7 is a must.

Just been thinking about Isaiah and his UK adventure.

We should get someone to ghost write a diary for him… then turn it into a performance art one person stage play, called…….

This will be the key to kicking on in 2025 should we return.

Teams on both sides of the world have struggled to recruit halves this off season due to lack of quality.

I did notice recently Milford is on the outer at The Dolphins. There doesn’t appear to be any further NRL interest.

He’s just picked up an injury which seems to be the catalyst behind him being moved on.

I would hope we are monitoring that situation, he’d be a risk but could also be a genuine game breaker and his flaws (defence) would be exposed less in SL. A mid season move could be a possibility too in 2024 once he recovers from injury.

I'm with you up to the mid season move if you mean to us.
If and it's a big If, he comes here, it's for Super League but even as a marquee I don't think we are looking that high. Even Brodie Croft was not a regular in the bottom team before he came to Salford.

I don’t think there is much appetite in SL.

Milford will be playing for the Norths Devils.

Only club that came in for him were Leigh by all accounts.

I think his options are very limited.

It is mad to even mention him as a possible target but I genuinely don’t think it’s out of the realms of possibility.

His risk profile is high (injury/attitude) which makes him unappealing plus he’s a very eyes up rather than structured player which is becoming less attractive to most coaches, but he’s the kind of wildcard signing that goes well at Trinity and I think we are not that tough a sell for a player with limited options and a point to prove.

It’s makes you wonder what happened with the Leigh deal as they seemed very keen according to reports. Brandon Wakeham is also in the NSW league now after featuring a fair bit for the Tigers last year. Always thought Cooper Johns looked alright but he’s packed NRL in for media.

This should all be on the rumours thread really but for me Milford hasn't lost his talent.
He's either going to take the Dolphins forward and look amazing or his off field issues will take him down a level. Meaning he either wouldn't come or we wouldn't want him.
Great player and I'd love to see him at Belle Vue but if had our purse strings he wouldn't be the one I'd go for.
