Yes comfy chairs for directors, it's a wonder IMG didn't stipulate padded bog seats too. So disappointing that our game has come to this and such things could be the one small difference in which division you play

There's been a long discussion on TotalRL Forum about this Plan B idea. Wakey and Fev fans pointing out that the £2m that all 3 WMDC clubs got was for grass roots and community enhancements not comfy chairs for the directors nor better facilities for the media guys. Supposedly to add on to a bigger spend/development not used up as a tarting up stand alone expenditure.

Where's that? When i've been on the Total RL forum I've never managed to see any replies?!

We used the money towards our redevelopment so I guess they could similarly say it is for the community.

Whilst I am a trin supporter of over 60 years I still hope cas can start to redevelop their ground in some form. Like belle Vue it is still a traditional old ground not like soleless stadiums ie Huddersfield. Plus they are a true rugby league club / community and looking forward they are the clubs the league will need. There is less and less players / amateur clubs so we will need them us for rugby league to survive. Cricket is the same and in a way football. As I see it the more clubs that improve facilities etc the more chance that the sport will survive

I agree. I'm on the 'we all hate Cas' train but it's only in jest. I grew up with mates following Cas and also Featherstone and would like to see all teams succeed.

But the original gift from the MDC was intended specifically for grass roots and community. Most of the areas Cas want to use the cash for are not so.

Been on the go since Monday night so it will be well down the page.

At the end of the day it's a wooden stand one of only 2 that exists in Rugby League today the other being Keighley. You can tart it up all you want but it's a wooden structure and this is 2023. All the waffle about upgrading the jungle, £2,000,000 to spend and no mention of upgrading their floodlights which were installed 1966. Wakefield have had 3 sets of lights in that time. They are using sticking plaster in the hope of getting a grade B from IMG, they have left it whilst the last minute i just hope they get found out.

All Cas usual banter apart. They have been dicked over same us us. OK we got a stand but that's even been downgraded during the build. If both our clubs had been in another local authority there is a good chance we would both have had proper new stadiums long by now. Look what we eventually got after all the various stadium ideas started being promised around 2005 ish. Cas have got a very long hard struggle ahead I suspect.

Not sure where people are.looking. In the full interview (over 1 hour) with Mark Gratton he is asked if there is a plan B if the planning decision is delayed any longer. He explains what plan B is but doesn't want to use it. The other option was to play for a season at another stadium with York given as an example for a season while the full revamp was in progress as that would be an easier way to meet IMG criteria. Not sure if you are aware but it involves 2 PPs one for the ground and one for the Axiom site. When Axiom site gets approval it releases the money to start the work at the jungle .
