Start of the season 10 days away. Where are IMG? : Mon Feb 06, 2023 12:20 pm  

With the new season only 10 days away am I the only one who thought IMG might be doing something to excite fans build interest and increase crowds. All we hear from them is about Grading. Although it would be nice to be in grade A and safe from relegation I can't see how this is going to grow the game. Surely we need publicity, TV adverts, newspaper adverts etc. I know this all costs money but exactly what are we getting out of this 12 year deal other than a rehash of licencing l

Clubs been informed of the next stages of IMG’s Reimagining of Rugby League. Grading criteria will be presented to them Thursday 9th March, with a number of consultation sessions scheduled for the next six weeks until a vote is made on Wednesday 19th April

Well I hope its voted out because you just know that we won't be grade A and if we have a bad season we will be stuck in the championship indefinitely.

IMG have been contracted as advisors to the game, which is exactly what they are doing, most of which sits in the medium to long term. As far as I`m aware they have not outsourced there marketing function to IMG, for me TV adverts etc are just bog standard marketing, surely they don`t have to sit around waiting to be told when/how to run a TV advert, the real question here should be where on earth are SL/RFL in all of this? Less than 2 weeks out and not a whisper.

Looks like another season where the 'goal posts' will be shifted half way through. Best thing is don't trust them one inch and expect nothing. We must win as many games as possible and look after ourselves and not rely on that lot.

Imagine the world where a top 8 team is relegated as they are only grade B
