That's a reasonably pragmatic way to look at it, however being involved in the construction industry for the last 36 years I have learnt a few things and the main one to remember is that we don't need to be worried about these shortcuts, its the ones we don't know about that we need to worry about. As for ME picking up/not picking up the cost of rectification, it all depends on a number of things. The main being the initial contract and retainers (if there even was any) and where the instructions came from to cut these corners/costs
Saying all that I do have100% faith in ME and I'm very glad that it isn't an accountant in charge anymore of making the next decisions moving forward :thumb:

What I don't understand is that with updates given by JM during the build, it definitely came across that Trinity were liable for any rise in steel price (even after contracts let) giving way to an erosion of project scope as the build went on. I've never worked on a "cost plus" contract and only ever know them to be for complex and unique projects (Nuclear Power Stations, HS2 etc).

He said they suffered because of cost changes between the agreement to start before covid and the actual signed contract.
But the contract was a fixed cost.
So issues with resource and access to materials cost us time rather than cost.

Extra things in the stadium that were needed outside Neil Fox stand would have cost more, like the electric issues they had well before Ellis took over.

Agree, looking at how shallow the new terracicing goes up and how much space to the side and rear you would be able to get another 2000 in there.

Honestly, the north stand has sold out so it might be more worth upgrading that first as the demand is clearly there. Whereas the west stand hasn’t hit capacity to my knowledge even in SL.

If you were to add an extra 1-2000 to the north and some basic refreshment facility/improved washroom facility and some cosmetic cladding etc it would be a huge improvement on the ground overall.

The South doesn’t need to be looked at until the east, north are at capacity and possibly after west has been upgraded.

If we get back in to SL after this season I can imagine that Ellis will have big plans to upgrade parts of the stadium.

200 more tickets have been announced for the North stand after minor adjustments. Anyone know what changes have been made?

Be interesting to find out. Good news though with the north at capacity if we can access another 200 in there now.

The terracing in the North East corner has been repaired and now has a safety certificate. A very quick and cheap way to gain 200 spaces.
