Firstly we are not paying for 2 coaches
Second, you haven't changed your point about Tupou. You say we are still paying for him and a new centre. Which was exactly the point you seem to be contesting.

I’m sure there was a long thread on here about Carter confirming that he would honour the agreement they had in place surrounding his new contract.

I think you’re misunderstanding my post then. I never contested to paying for Bill off and bringing in a new centre, if it needs to be done then that’s business.

Think it could be good to lay of B T till we see how he goes on the pitch. As Vastman says A below B T is still better than a lot that are around

Agreed.
It's a bit harsh wanting rid, when the guy has been giving the club excellent service for a number of seasons.
It's hardly the players fault that he is injured.
As BT is contracted, the best thing we can do is help him back to full fitness and then see how things go.

On his day, he's still an excellent player.

Yes, it's frustrating for the fans but, it will be way more frustrating for a player coming towards the end of his career and having to sit in the stands and watch.

Correct Vastman, basic economics.

Despite it being pure speculation…Reading my comment back, “should Bill pick up another knock” that’s when I would look to settle with him and no, I don’t mean pay him off specifically. It would be a tough decision for the club but should he be on the sideline again, in the last year of his contract then we would either be left paying his wages for him to sit on the sideline and leave or come to an agreement and unfortunately have to cough up for another centre or make do with what we have for the remaining fixtures.

Well what do you specifically mean,? isn't looking to settle with him paying him off? or have you a different meaning of the term, with the odd exception most of our players have been sidelined through injury this season, should the club use your mentality and look to move them on as well, if Topou had another 2 or 3 seasons left on his contract then maybe your concern might be vindicated but he has one season left so even if hypothetically he does brake down again the financial impact won't be as great, do you actually know what the problem is and the further repercussions of his injury further down the line, the only speculation on the matter seems to come from your unfounded concern, I'm sure the club will have this in hand best leave it to them eh.

But stll not said, read it how you want but i havent said "get rid of him"
For a start i know its not possible just to get rid. But will stand by what i say currently he is a waste of overseas spot due to injury and form of which may have somthing to do with the injuries lets just hope like i have already said he can recover from a very nasty injury and rediscover some of the form he showed 3 to 4 yers ago.but remember he isnt getting any younger

There was a long thread.
But that money isn't coming out of the pot that pays for players so is not connected to whether we can afford two centres.
And although I don't know for sure, a severance tends to be paid in one. Not a weekly wage, so we won't be currently paying for two coaches.

Personally, I think he would do well to come back from that

How often do you see players move on that are under contract where it states “mutual agreement”? Do you think ALL of these players are paid off?

Obviously they shouldn’t move others on as from memory, their injuries aren’t as bad as Bill’s at the age of 31.
