Hull FC / Play Offs : Fri Sep 17, 2021 11:27 am
Hoping to sign off with a win tonight against an under performing Hull FC side following last week’s disappointing loss. Imagine it will be a close game as always.

On another note away from Trinity, any thoughts on KR making playoffs? Personally think they’ve had a few good wins but believe Castleford fans are well within their right to be disgruntled having missed out on the playoff places despite having more points than KR.

Haven't cas only actually won 10 games the same as HKR? + one more awarded from a cancellation. If they beat Leeds they'll have won more?

Yeah but 3 of HKR postponed games are Catalan, Stains and Warrington. So I think they are in a false position and have come out on the right side of the percentage system by a good margin

I agree. Postponing games against those 3 has done their percentages a lot of good. This was always the worry regarding the % system and clubs playing the system.

They do appear to have played the system better than others, but maybe it was just down to luck.
I still don't think cas have anything to whinge about. Hull KR have had 5 postponed whereas cas had 2 postponed and 2 cancelled. ATEOTD cas will only have played one more game and potentially won one fewer. If there is anything to blame it's probably their coach sacrificing games around the cup final for all the good that did them.

Come on Comiscat, there was all sorts of issues last season and while Trinity went "above and beyond", I'm not sure what more Catalan could have done last season.
Perhaps, for next season we should copy the RU position, whereby any side that postpones their fixture, for whatever reason, the points go to their opponent. This would certainly take any chance of skullduggery but, it's still not perfect.

The situation in The Championship is even more skewed.

Toulouse will finish top of the pile, having played only "half" of their fixtures.
Not really thier fault, as part time clubs didn't have to travel over there and all of their victories have come away from home.
This must have left a huge bill for their owner to cover, with very, very little income.
Can you imagine ANY other club having to do this ?

Let's hope that were back to "normal" next season but, you wouldn't want to put your mortgage on that.
