10 team SL would be horrific not even negotiating this one.

Here we go again  at what point is every one going to understand until the council stop them building and make them honour the reduced project it will never happen

Which is why any future build at NM should have a pre commencement condition lodged against until the stand at BV is built/operational and the council need to be strong enough to enforce it. Will it happen? I'm not holding my breath, we've been had many times before, why is this time going to be any different.

If we want new facilities we have to find the resources elsewhere, and that isn't exactly an easy thing to do. Best we can hope for is to get in bed with football and use the grants available in that sport, but that has its own issues.

Am I wrong but I read it as a 20 team SL in 2 divisions, so lower division would still be SL , also didn't they say that money differences between the 2 division's would less and that they would try to get a tv deal for the lower division? It would not be like going into the championship

You are not wrong but the reality is it would last about 2 years before the SL 1 pulled up the draw bridge, if this is the long term goal just get on with it an organise the game accordingly, I am happy to do local derbies etc and have the local banter I do not want to go to France, Canada or wherever else these sold called expansionist developers want to go and eat cake and leave the game locally in a mess.

Sorry to say that I think you have been suckered mate.
There isn't sufficient Sky monies to maintain a 12 club SL. Therefore, the 2nd tier would be "Super League" in name only and in many ways will be poorer than the current "Championship".
If anyone thinks that it's SL 1 and SL 2, they are very badly mistaken, it's a sugar coated cyanide pill, which, with Toulouse likely to be in SL 1, means that 3 current SL clubs face the chop.

Exactly this. It’s a back door power grab by the big clubs and once they have the system they want the drawbridge will be up and it will be by invite only.

I think you're right - it's a little bit like the top football club s wanted to do recently.-think about themselves only.
Perhaps it's time for a split :D

I have supported Trinity since 1975 in that time I have seen more promises and false dawns regarding stadium development than I care to remember. Always someone else’s fault never the fact the club has been badly run for the vast majority of the last 50 years present owner excluded.
It’s never going to happen! It’s never going to happen at Castleford either Featherstone Rovers despite being in the lower league since 1996 have put both clubs to shame in that time!
The only way forward if we don’t want to see all 3 clubs die a slow death in the amateur competition outside super league is to put old rivalries apart pool limited recourses and merge all 3 clubs in a community stadium the Wakefield 5 towns can be proud of.
Time to get out of the Stone Age and move forward because at this rate all three clubs will go under!

Wow, djcool is right about thing any development @ new market to works completed @ Belle Due etc, do not say it cannot be done, asda were tied to building a road first in order to build a supermarket ! But & a big But, the council wanted it & therefore ensured it
Happened !!!!
With regard to SL 1 & other lower clubs, Sky hold all the dictat by tightening financial controls, lowering monies knowing no other
Broadcaster will come near their deal, they have us on the cheap tied by our fear of no monies at all.
By the way no one will touch SL \2 as there will be fewer viewers similarly to the football trying a deal for the championship etc.
The four clubs that go down, then any of those fans who have sky sports WILL cancel, just as I will/ would.
10 teams playing 18 games is 10 games short of the 28 games clubs say they need now for funds from spectators ?
That means playing each other 3 times & four if you count cup games ! Neutral will not watch that & will say, what's the point ?

Going back to the stadium- Am I missing something here.I thought the developers had agreed to fund at least the new east stand, dependant on them getting one of their projects passed.I remember John Minards saying he was peed off with a lack of progress, but are we now saying they are trying to wriggle out of it.Because if that was the case we should be calling them out.
