I know that we have been poor for most of the last 3 seasons. However, with cash in short supply for all but a few clubs (who have very wealthy owners), it's difficult to see how Trinity can gain too much ground on the top half of the league. Does anyone seriously believe that we can compete in monetary terms with Catalan, Leeds, Saints, Wigan, Hill FC and Warrington. The bottom line is that at the moment we are a bottom half of the table, competing with Huddersfield, Salford, KR, Leigh and maybe Cas. The cold hard fact is that, like many clubs we are in survival mode, which leaves us signing players like Gigot. We may get lucky and pick up some real quality but, it's a case of hanging in there until there is some light at the end of the tunnel. Nobody wants to see the days return when we had a couple of decent seasons, followed by some kind of financial disaster and with income massively down, what do people really expect.? It's hard enough for folk trying to run any business at the moment but, a RL club, without fans for almost 12 months, no additional matchday sales and a drop off in S/T holders. For now, I'm happy that we are still alive and still in SL and lets just hope that there is something better around the corner. Wigan's 5000 home gate should be enough of a warning sign. Things will get worse before they start to get better and if we want a club to support, running away now isnt the best thing to be doing.
We do look like we would benefit from a change in the coaching set up as we dont appear to be getting the best from what we have and EVERYONE wants to see us winning some games.
Apart from the Salford game, we have won the games that you would expect us to win and we have KR, Giants, Leigh and maybe a rearranged game v Salford to come and there may still be the odd surprise result along the way.
With HKR signing the full back from St and favourites to sign the stand of from Wires .Looks like they got a good money backer ires
They have had a good backer for a while but things just don't click for them. Strange: good crowds, big season ticket take up, top coach, marquee signing, good spine. Strange

They do have an excellent coach, proven at every club he's been at and more brass than we have. Having said that, they have also been relegated (twice) in the SL era.

They're going ok this year, at 6th, what it would be like to be so high.
They've not always had good coaches in the SL era, they've had Chester and Webster.

They have been relegated only the once, the year in which Chester started with them as coach. Didn't that team put something like 50 on us at our ground
They do have a good backer and I think he's a fan of the club and local too which I think helps. Not sure on the roots of Carter and Minards

I`m sure we beat that team and Chester was sacked directly after the game?

How are Huddersfield bracketed with the lower half teams?! Because they currently occupy a slot there, but yet they are not short of cash are they?! Like I've said a million times before, having money guarantees nothing, it's only useful if used correctly, Man Utd have spent over 900 million since Fergie left, and haven't won the league unlike Liverpool & City who have spent far less. Go to Warrington and explain to their fans why they haven't been crowned league champions since 1955!!!! That's further back than ourselves?! You have hit the nail on the head, when you say we don't appear to be getting the best out of what we have, so why do you think most fans are p****d off when it appears the coach is to be retained? Obviously it's an opinion to a point, as to how good our squad is, and when quoting how many games we should be winning etc, is also not a scientific fact, but I think we are entitled to better performances and more wins should have been attained than we currently have.

My memory must be getting worse, I thought they'd been relegated twice

Whilst Hudgell is a good backer for KR, he doesn`t bankroll them because he can`t, he probably has a similar level of wealth to Carter, it probably is worth noting though KR average around 8K crowds so are able to spend up to the cap based on income generated. Chester had the same backing as Smith had, difference is Smith is smart with his recruitment, Chester blew all his money on Campese who was a massive risk and Kelly who has a known history of showing up when he wants to, went into the season with a paper thin squad - Then people had the audacity to suggest Chester was extremely unlucky because of the levels of injuries, no he got his recruitment all wrong as he seems to have done a lot of the time over his time with us.
