They're going ok this year, at 6th, what it would be like to be so high.
They've not always had good coaches in the SL era, they've had Chester and Webster.
They have been relegated only the once, the year in which Chester started with them as coach. Didn't that team put something like 50 on us at our ground
They do have a good backer and I think he's a fan of the club and local too which I think helps. Not sure on the roots of Carter and Minards
You seem well informed regarding Hull KR, do you have relatives that are fans of the club by any chance?

Don't know why you're getting so defensive about Rovers? The thread is merely showing that even Rovers, who carry far more pluses than many other teams in Super League, are currently on a knife edge. They look like ending the season above us for the 1st time in a quite a while. Good on them.
Chester leaving them after a couple of games but still being blamed for relegation 20 odd games later is a very desperate play there.
The big loss v Rovers later that season was a master class from Kelly and Campese. That's all.
How are Huddersfield bracketed with the lower half teams?! Because they currently occupy a slot there, but yet they are not short of cash are they?! Like I've said a million times before, having money guarantees nothing, it's only useful if used correctly, Man Utd have spent over 900 million since Fergie left, and haven't won the league unlike Liverpool & City who have spent far less. Go to Warrington and explain to their fans why they haven't been crowned league champions since 1955!!!! That's further back than ourselves?! You have hit the nail on the head, when you say we don't appear to be getting the best out of what we have, so why do you think most fans are p****d off when it appears the coach is to be retained? Obviously it's an opinion to a point, as to how good our squad is, and when quoting how many games we should be winning etc, is also not a scientific fact, but I think we are entitled to better performances and more wins should have been attained than we currently have.
You're right Having lots of cash guarantees nothing but, you'd rather have plenty of brass than none at all ? It's no coincidence that those clubs with most to spend, generally fare better than those with little. Having watched Trinity since the late 80's, it's generally been thin and thinner, punctuated with the occasional foray into the play offs and with some financial disasters thrown in. I dont know if we are in a position to throw some money around, although I suspect not and without investing in some better quality players and having better luck with injuries (not having Johnstone is hurting us like hell), we will struggle to achieve much better than 8-11th spot and we've been lucky that, London, Toronto and now Leigh have been part of SL for the last 3 seasons. I do agree about our coach and it seems crazy that after just a couple of wins, we were quick to hand out a new contract. Somebody obviously thinks he is doing a better job than most of the fans ? Selling S/T's for next season is going to be one hell of a hard sell. With a poor finish in the table and games getting postponed (probably cancelled) and with the prospect of the "usual" 9th, 10th, 11th place finish, it's going to be harder than this season. We could certainly do with some good news and a couple of "W's"
Whilst Hudgell is a good backer for KR, he doesn`t bankroll them because he can`t, he probably has a similar level of wealth to Carter, it probably is worth noting though KR average around 8K crowds so are able to spend up to the cap based on income generated. Chester had the same backing as Smith had, difference is Smith is smart with his recruitment, Chester blew all his money on Campese who was a massive risk and Kelly who has a known history of showing up when he wants to, went into the season with a paper thin squad - Then people had the audacity to suggest Chester was extremely unlucky because of the levels of injuries, no he got his recruitment all wrong as he seems to have done a lot of the time over his time with us.
Hudgell is not the backer they have had a new one all season
Wasn't Canpese old and came with a long record of been injured when he joined HKR .So that plan did not work for Mr Chester .I now see why we have got the, if it's not working do not fix it attitude from our coaches

Campese was outstanding when on the pitch but suffered with his knees a lot. Wiki says he played 26 games in 2015 & 16. Kelly was outstanding when he wasn't in the pub.

Was CC the coach when he signed or was it Sandercock?

Of course generally money helps, I can't see how you could be a serious title contender without having money in simple terms, but as we all know it's never that straightforward. It's about a realistic target of wins for each club given the quality of the 25 or so players he has at his disposal. It also doesn't do much for confidence when the chairman is asked what areas need strengthening next year, and he says a second rower?! Surely we need an out and out prop for starters, and a hooker. That's another thing though, if next year we amazingly did have some extra cash made available, can we trust Chester to make the right kind of signings?! Too many players under him seem to go backwards at a rate of knots, Tanginoa & Battye are nowhere near as good as last year so far. On a positive note, we do seem to have some real exciting prospects coming through, probably the best crop at a certain age we've ever had, and hopefully they can become at least decent standard SL players in the next 2 to 5 years. I've just lost a lot of confidence in Chester being the man to guide them though, although Aydin certainly seems to be going in the right direction right now, which is good to see. Like you say, trying to keep fans is gonna be hard, never mind trying to attract new ones!
