Castleford seem to be affected on a regular basis but I'm sure they will be clear to play at home to Wakefield. Guaranteed win and a big crowd will ensure they are covid free for that week.

I see that Hull KR who filled in last week against Catalan have not had this reciprocated by Leigh or Huddersfield who they asked to replace Salford. I guess neither are worried about fixture congestion later on and I expect neither will complain if they have several games in a short period of time.

Just been listening to CC on Trinity tv pre Catalans games, makes some interesting comments on some teams who seem to take advantage of postponing games, one team in particular, talks about some teams who don’t have academy, being at an advantage when calling games off, mentioned the Saints game that was brought forward to suit Saints, he clearly feels that the whole postponement protocols are being manipulated by some clubs.
Also listened to a BBC sports podcast this afternoon, by Dave Woods Tony Smith Kev Brown, fro yesterday. Some very interesting views from them about games being called off,

Very good, you made me smile with that one.
Going bust always makes it difficult to fulfil fixtures though.

As for those that are missing the most games and doing it regularly, you would think that, for the sake of their fans and sponsors, they would implement some tighter controls/ restrictions on players / staff, to ensure that they actually do play their games.

As a sport, we are absolutely taking the P out of Sky and making it way too easy for them to walk away of, offer a pittance of deal.
How on earth do those at the top think that we can get the best deal, when we can only manage 50% of the weekly fixtures.
How the hell can they plan a TV schedule with such an unreliable "product".
Someone needs to give our sport a bloody good shake.

Super League - farce
World Cup - farce
Magic Weekend - why on earth would you buy tickets when it's very likely to have some postponed fixtures.

Chester mentions that the Shudds fixture might get pulled forward from Sunday to Friday but he doesn't say at who's call. Tom Johnstone would most likely be available for the Sunday but not the Friday option. Westerman available regardless of day.

Well, personally, on a selfish level, :) I wouldn't mind that as there's no f**king trains on the Sunday to Huddersfield or Wakefield from Barnsley!

Given they play Monday and we don’t that suits us.

Here's the context...

Postponed Fixtures yet to be played so far (in order)
Leeds V St Helens - Leeds will be happy to duck Sts
Hull KR V St Helens - HKR won't want to lose the Sts
Hull KR V Hull FC - HKR want this as it's a money spinner (but have to play Sts first if they are available)
Hull FC V Salford - Salford will want to duck HFC
Hull FC V Leigh - ditto Leigh
Hull KR V Warrington - HKR will be happy to miss Wire
Leigh V Warrington - ditto Leigh
St Helens V Hull KR - HKR won't want to travel to Sts
Catalans V Castleford - Cas don't like leaving Cas
St Helens V Huddersfield - Hudds will like to duck Sts
Salford V Hull KR - these will want to duck each other
Leigh V Castleford - Cas will miraculously have all their squad available - but Leigh won't be interested
Wakefield V Salford - played in priority, so will depend on if Sfd are in danger of being caught by / or needing to catch Wakey

EVENTUALLY, WE'LL WIN SOMETHING, ,MAYBE, IF I'M STILL ALIVE THEN

Re: Fixture Congestion : Wed Jul 28, 2021 11:14 pm
The answer is quite obvious really. After this weekend, there are only four more weekends before the Magic Weekend. Play just the postponed fixtures and whichever games need to be played to end the season after 20 rounds, with Magic as 21. If you don't fulfil a fixture, you don't get the points. The percentage system is open to abuse and teams are effectively penalised for playing more games. Given the physical nature of the game, and concussion protocols, teams who play the least are more likely to do better, with a potentially higher percentage and a less-fatigued squad.

Want to do well in 2021? Get pinged on the Covid app and then invite everyone round for tea.

If you play more games you have more chances to win, the fact we haven't is solely at our feet, we've had plenty of opportunities in most of the games we have played. Had we been better prepared in attack could have come away with the points and be far away from relegation, whinging about how unfair a team who has won less games than us sneak into the play off spots.
