Ellis was signed directly from Lock Lane I believe, he was signed with Haughy and Feather, Feather I believe came through Leeds.
Didn't we get those two from somewhere like Keighley Albion, straight into our Academy side. Seem to remember them doing a short interview on stage at one of those Mustang Sally shirt presentation evenings. We did get Feather back from Leeds on loan in 2004. He committed a crucial knock on away at Wigan in that play off game.
That's not right. There is a podcast interview out there where TJ explains that Leeds didn't want him when he was at Staningley, in fact, nobody did. He may have attended a few trials and open days but that's all. Then when he was about to quit the game Trinity offered him a trial and then a deal. Apparently, Leeds put in a last-minute bid but TJ was no longer interested.
So unless that podcast was wrong he was never part of the Rhino's setup. See link, think it's the right one.

It's a confusing interview to be fair as he seems to suggest Hunslet, not Leeds is where he got put.
From what I can make out I don't think he ever put on a Leeds jersey.
It's only the same as our own scholarships and service areas etc, there will be a lot of players in SL who will at some point have had some involvement with us at a young age but who we can in no way claim our products even if they are Wakefield born and bred.
I'd day Leeds input into TJ is minuscule, to me, he is a product of the Staningly and Wakefield clubs.

Tom Haughy?? came from Doncaster I think,
Feather is from Keighley but I don't know whether he signed directly to us, I have it in the back of my head that he was at Leeds at some point as a youth but I can't be sure.
His Wiki says he came through the ranks at Wakefield but which rank he started at I don't know.

I thought we had Feather back on a permanent basis?
Does anyone know when/who was the last player to play for england/GB who came through our youth system is..ive got in my head as ellis but as there been anyone since.i know TJ was in our academy but he came from leeds youth set up
What are the rules regarding "home grown"?
The TJ scenario for me is interesting. But for me I couldn't care less where he was born, where he played before he was 16 etc. He's our player who has come through our Academy and who we have developed. Leeds born or not surely he's home grown? However I've no idea what the RFL / authorities would say

To me, the team that produced you is the one that gives you your first contract and your first game ie Trinity Academy to the first-team squad.
So although Ryan Atkins only played one game for Bradford and definitely broke through at Trinity he is a Bradford product. TJ was in Trinities academy and went straight to the first team, hence a Trinity product.
There are anomalies. Danny Brough came through our academy but I don't recall him making the first team before getting himself sacked, yet he almost certainly would have played first team. He debuted for Dewsbury but he can hardly be called a Dewsbury club product even if he is from Dewsbury. Can get very confusing at times.
