I know there's lots of negative posts about the club and how it's progressing however just think about last night the raves about a a young Wigan team.

Just take a look at our 17 last night and take in how many of that team have been brought through our ranks. Also a big shout for Yousef last night the lad didn't take a step back did what he had to do.

im all for local talent across super league, I’d like to see the overseas players dropped to 3 and 3 only no exceptions. The A team competition as been a massive loss to the game as it gives lads who are breaking into the first team somewhere to go when their form dips which it usually does. It baffles me that clubs are now having to make decisions on 18 year olds leaving the academy when it’s clear most are no where near ready especially the forwards, this is why so many in teams are 30 plus.
You see the problem with local talent is if we say play 13 wakey lads and they took us down then that would be failure, so I’m all for local talent but they have to continuously improve to get to the next level.
I know there have been circumstances with covid but could you say TJ, max, batch, Ryan, kershaw, crowther have improved to where they were 18 months ago, not sure on that but if we could keep dragging improvements out of them then they go forward and so does the team

Was Yousef the guy with 20 on is back(at presents getting to ground with 5 mins to KO so do not get to no team )Notice that shirt a lot and it seemed to be in the thick of it The quick thinking at play the ball to go up the touch line to go 60 +yards took the pressure of us and was a run that helped us win the game

20 is Joe Arundal. He was the one who made the break.
The kid was 26.

Correct but Yusuf did make a big impact when on, the lad is a talent and has muscled up a hell of a lot since last year. A real pocket battleship.

Many of us having been calling for Aydin, Eseh and Greensmith to get a chance. Hopefully as our league position improves so will the opportunities for these young lads.

I think Aydin is already getting a go. Greensmith is ripping up trees at Donny and that is where he should stay for the season IMHO. He will come back a far better player next year for the experience.

Eseh for me is too young and inexperienced yet for such a leap, another year for me before he gets a game.

Aydin does look more physically ready than last year. Certainly stood up in his stint yesterday and did his job well.

Eseh the foot injury probably won’t help but I agree. He has all the raw materials to make it and be a good prop but I agree next year is when we are likely to see him get eased in a few games.

I really do think that keeping the bulk of our young and local fringe players will benefit us in the long term.

Batchelor seems to have found a consistent role as our interchange SR.

Kershaw is winning me over for the right wing spot. While he has a few things to work on in finishing try’s he is very good at meter gains and he has cut out his mistakes.

Me too will never be a try-scoring machine like BJB or TJ as he lacks both the pace and finesse but as a blunt instrument he's really good and has an immense engine - there is room for both types of players. CC obviously thinks so as he picks him over the more prolific Kaye.

Aydin took the ball in off our own line and bounced off the first would be tacklers and kept going even though Wigan put some big hits on him ,that’s what you call playing with some passion for me ,and grabbing his opportunities with both hands . Having said that I was pleased with the effort of the whole squad last night especially their goal line defence . Like the way Lino was orchestrating things getting the line set ,max was special at the back and have to say kershaw just gets better every game .The future is looking a lot brighter with these lot coming through .
