Alex Walker has never been a top full back. He had a decent season for a struggling London outfit. He showed promise but he has always had flaws in his game especially his attack. I said before we signed him he often hesitates when joining the line and struggles to find a pass. That part of his game hasn’t developed.

Honestly bigging a player up as something he never was just to use it as a stick to beat Chester with is just poor form from you.

Ok will take your point never been a top FB. I agree but Christ he's better than what he has dished up under us.

I had not really seen anything of him so can't comment but happy to take your word for it. However if that's the case then given the players we already had in the squad, why sign him?

Your guess is as good as mine. That said we have been down to the bare bones in the position on ocassion and he has been there to plug that gap.

At the time there was an issue with re-signing Rocky who was ooc, so made sense initially. I wish we didn’t bother though, one poster said Rocky couldn’t tackle, maybe his defence is suspect, but he brought a lot more to the attack than Walker ever did.

Think there was one game where Johnstone made more tackles than Walker.

Hardly had a mention in last night's plaudits but, having been disappointed with him so far this season, I was really impressed with his efforts last night and was more than happy to applaud him off at the end of the game

Topped the tackle count with 39 and missed 1.
Thats more than anyone on either side, including the back rowers who played more minutes.

He took the ball up well against an aggressive young Wigan pack, quick play the balls and tackled his heart out. What more do you want

Yes I agree. He was very busy yesterday and was a constant nuisance in the middle to Wigan. He was very aggressive which was fantastic to see.

He's an old fashioned ball playing prop, just needs that support player running with him.
He takes it to the line how our halves should and looks to create space.
