We lost Cas weren't very good but got more help from the man in the middle than we did so please don't start bulling Powell up for that performance. Max made a crucial error which unfortunately turned out to be the difference. So let's not start the Chester bashing again. Cas got the rub of the green tonight on the pitch and also in the refs eyes. You could see it in Powell's face at the end most things went their way tonight don't think it was anything to do with his so called super coaching abilities.

So we lost because jowitt messed up and ref was unfair.....like i said we had better caibre of players on pitch more first teamers on pitch less injuries than the opposition......but if we lose with 4 or 5players out its due to those injuries for the reason why.we should of won tonight despite the ref and max shocking mistake but we didnt when miller dont play cc has said how can we win without our best player well where was trueman tonight.....it was only close cos richardson couldnt kick

Cas weren't very good? What does that make us then? Powell doesn't have to be a super coach but 15 on the trot against us is pretty damning don't you think? He outcoaches Chester every time. You can use the ref all you want and I agree we got some dodgy calls but the best team won and 4 tries to 2 sums it up. Quite simply we were awful - again!

What did he do to out coach us today?

He didn't have to do a lot did he? Our one man Rugby with no support made it easy for them. Our terrible last tackle plays made it easy for them. We have one of the best wingers in the league, we didn't create a single overlap for him, that made it easy for them. We kicked once to the corner for TJ it went out on the full, tried it on the other side, it went sideways. I could go on and on, our performance was poor again. Are Castleford a team of superstars? No, thought not. Is it a hoodoo? Nah I don't believe in such things. 15 in a row says Powell out coaches Chester every single time and this time we handed it to them on a plate.

Really disappointed with that effort.Once it became clear that Powell had got his team 'up for it',as he always does against us, there just seemed an inevitability about the result.Agree with Khlav that they were well coached and drilled as usual, and we've never found a way to counteract that, a plan B if you like, all the time Chester has coached us.Not having a dig as such, just stating how I see it.
On reflection I suppose what I'm saying is Chris Chester hasn't closed any of the coaching gap between himself and Powell since he's been here.Sad but true IMO.

Just seen your post Poptart 'what did he do to outcoach us'
I am trying not to be sarcastic, but I am wondering if you've asked the same question after each of the last 15 matches we've played Cas.
I'll admit I know little or nothing about coaching, but I would have thought 4 tries to 2 must prove something.

I'd say having Arundal on the bench has just paid off.

We've had a lot of games. Some players need to take a rest for next game.
Doesn't always have to be a conspiracy.
Saying that, Arundal runs excellent lines so he isn't a step down.

Might not have a choice. Next weeks is the England game so given the covid issues and injuries around our 3 squad members are likely to get the call up. Plus can see Kelepi and possibly big Dave in the combined nation squad. When you throw in Bill’s injury as well that could be half a dozen changes there. Saving grace is Wigan will also be missing a load.

Cas were much more fluid in attack last night where we struggled to ,as the speed and accuracy of the pass let us down time after time .We are well into the season now and our attack still looks clunky to non existent, our try’s came from off the cuff plays as time and time again we squandered last play options and they really looked as clueless as I’ve seen them when we did manage a shot at the Cas line. Danny Richardson was given too much time with ball in hand and ran the show alongside mata’utia and mcshane and apart from milky running his blood to water it certainly didn’t look like we were up for this supposed big derby clash ,turned out very much a damp squib apart from the odd burst of life . If last night is the extent of how we use a world class winger is it time to chip him in and let him play in a decent coached team who would use him to their advantage unlike us ,did Chester forget he had picked the lad and totally left our main strike player out of the game plan ,cos it looked like it to me. Obviously we all hyped this game up from old times of derby clashes when we used to see blood and thunder on the pitch , last nights effort for me was a pale shadow of those days and left me pondering what do the back room staff actually say to the players to get them up for a game which the fans obviously thought a lot more important than the playing staff looking at that poor lacklustre performance last night .

The performance from both teams seemed sub standard, the short turn round didn't help.
I thought our pack matched Cas but our quality of passing seemed slow.
Lino took a slight step back on that performance and Miller put in his usual stint but even with 2 trys seemed less effective as usual.
That game was there to be taken but in general our attack was clunky and set out for just individual one up rugby.
We have plenty of contract up for renewal and recruitment must be given some kind of priority.

Another pathetic display. How tedious and depressing.
