Quote Budgiezilla="Budgiezilla"We've not enough BIG lads in our squad. We're missing Adam Sidlow (badly), I would include Ben Flower but I think he's only played 2 games anyway, Jordan Thompson has been one of our better forwards but is injured also, along with Matty Russell. But like you say it's not a bad squad (on paper) but we should lose by around 18-24 points.'"
I think you’ve perfectly summarised a massive issue with yourselves and almost any promoted team and how Trins survival in SL in those first few seasons remains a miracle,
I’ll go as far as to say Trinity were the last team who will get away with it.
It’s your list. We may not have the talent base of some and we’ve certainly struggled of late but cracking pro’s those lads you mention may be it would be hard to call them match winners.
This is not me being big headed or condescending, as I say we’ve hardly covered ourselves in glory of late but if I list our key men I think it’s obvious that Leigh don’t have the squad to compete in SL, and basically I’d say us and Salford on most recent form are your best chance.
Johnstone, Tupou, Lyne, Miller and now Lino, Westerman, Ashurst, Tanginoa, Fifita, all match winners on their day and all supported by other good players.
Now that’s not to say you won’t beat us, inconsistent is our middle name, you could do that with a team of rookies if we have our stupid heads on but enough times over a season, that’s less likely.
P&R is now completely untenable for any team these days unless they have massive backing,
Best of luck but not tomorrow.
