We are in a very sticky position regarding next years recruitment are we gonna trust Chester or not. Or is carter gonna sign players after some advice? Other clubs already making huge head starts on us it is a bit of a sticky wicket. Sunday brilliant first half, 2nd half at 22-12 was getting dicey we did send some poor kicks up. The first half was the best half with probably near 90% completion. Lino and miller gelled so well. Next years recruitment a bit of a worry also who deciding ooc players. Tricky
The original post does have a valid point indeed.
We have a lot coming off contract both at the end of 2021 and 2022.
Didn't MC hold his hand up in the last Q&A with words to the effect of that he made some bad calls historically with contract renewals and the length of some.
Sadly, some of those players with the longer term extended deals seem to be the ones who's form, for one reason or another has dipped.
Don't get me wrong, some of those stepped up at the weekend, but as they say, one swallow doesn't make a summer.
Come on then where am i been proved wrong did i not put on here before anyone else about the milner rummor which still may me wrong but as yet not proved wrong and in fact though most of rugby press since as linked him with us.and at the same time i before anyone else i said wood was out for months with hamstring injury at tbe time hed come off with a arm injury but it only to be officially announced he our with his hamstring...oh and i tipped a win on sunday too...now where have you been right
Virtually everything.
According to you, we needed at least 8 world-class props to stand a chance in SL.
By common consent, props have not been the problem, creative players have. No hookers and one HB, that's been the problem.

Only if you want it too.
Sadly this forum is now dominated by those who do.
Those who wish to live in a glass half empty world now dominate and they are happy to shout down those who don't as 'clueless'. It's like the character Unlucky Alf, he worried so much and saw the downside of everything making them self-fulfilling prophecies, that's what Trinity fans are like.
Not suggesting you are one of those but it's much easier in life to seek out negatives over positives. You can overthink anything to the point where the only disaster awaits, even though in this case it can only be pure speculation. I'll ask again, how do you know that behind the scenes things are not well on the way to being sorted for next year?
As for the zoom meeting, I think MC and JM are as honest as they can be but if you think they are giving you the full story I think you're being a touch nieve. It's like the fact that MC no longer post on here, he kept telling people the truth and they kept ignoring him and making up their own narrative. It wasn't just the abuse that made him leave it was the fact that it was a waste of time trying to explain anything.
We are no further ahead or behind any other team in SL in terms of our preparation. All teams are in the same boat with contracts ending, players going over the hil,l, and so on, why we always assume it's any worth with us just shows how insecure Trinity fans actually are. We are not a special case, nobody promised us a rose garden, we just play whats in front of us.

8 props come where have i said that and now you say virtually everything, haha
Oh and props has been an issue hence af was linked with the club and anyone who understands rugby(ill exclude you from said list) can see our props dont and haven't been making the yards required

I am neither a glass half empty or full, but comment on how I have seen our performances dip over the past couple of seasons.
Yes, we have had a terrible run with injuries, but I dont think you can pin it all on that.
What we have had is a relatively stable squad over the past few years, but sadly, a lot of our players who have been good are starting to age, and when that creeps up on you, it takes longer to recover from knocks and ailments, and that's life in general, not just contact sports.
Some players will end up moving on, but at this stage nobody knows who, or when.
Where I would suggest is the front row. Lets mot deny the fact that there has been games where our front row unit haven't ran it in, but leaving it to our backs. Yes, backs help out, but entire sets, I don't think so.
Hooker, definitely, although having said that, Walker did play well, and in the little bit of game time Bowes has had, he looks OK too.
Outside back - A possibility, though there is also Croft and Greensmith.
At the end of the day, plenty of games left, this and next year, for players to prove themselves, but it takes more than 1 game.
Think the two Woods and J C been injured may have given Mr Chester a life line He took a gamble on playing Walker at 9 .and we looked more fluent in attack. No it was not all down to him but he gave us another dimension to our attacking play ,and with the ball moving faster along the line our players were getting the ball while moving forward instead of stood still ..So my first signings would be Walker ,Jowitt and Hampshire.( He can cover fullback and halfs) The hooker from St looks as though he could do a job for us. Pity J W is going to Cas would have like him to stay ,but he is still giving us 100%.Think the gap between the 6 Money teams and clubs like us will get bigger next year as there is a lot of Australian player going back next year .So they will be offering more Cash to the better English players to come and join them
A number of off contract players put in a great performance against HKR. We have a number off contract and views will vary on who to keep and who to let go. I have to say we seem to be dragging our feet a little but no more than Salford, HKR, Leeds, Hull Huddersfield, Wigan, saints, Wire, all seem to have re signed players and have players on the radar. I think because of our early displays we are probably taking our time and reviewing the situation on a weekly basis. It should improve when a desisions are made about the manager. Leigh are not in a position at present to offer SL contracts, but that may change,

One of the most speculative and assumption based posts I have seen

I think he’s linked with HKR now and that rumour has far more legs on it
