The most important thing is that we sell all of the tickets.
Of course it would be better if they all went to Trin fans.
However, there is a better atmosphere if there are some away fans in the ground.

Looking forward to this one, although Huddersfield are going pretty well at the moment, with 3 wind on the bounce, including a very comfortable win against Leigh last time out.

WAKEFIELD TRINITY - The PRIDE of Sporting Wakefield

THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY IS DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS

They did however lose to Hull KR who we beat this week fairly comfortably. A similar team and similar performance to Sunday would give us a good shout of stopping their winning run IMO

I heard from a reliable source today, that due to a visit by WMDC officials last Friday to BV, after assessing each spectator area, the crowd is limited to 2,800. I have to say I thought there was more than that for the game v HKR. I thought the government guidelines was 4,000 or 50% of capacity whichever is the lowest.
Also told that the second floodlight is assembled and ready for installation at the Cats bar end of ground,
Anyway back to tickets, get down to shop before the tickets are gone.

Great news on the floodlight front ,was stood on the western terrace when the new one came on and looked very impressive. Got tickets online for the family this morning no problems.

I hope that your information around the 2800 limit is wrong ?

The one plus point of our ground is that it's very much "open", with very few enclosed areas.
Of course there will always be some "risk" but, it would be very disappointing if the capacity is downgraded.

Re: Huddersfield tickets : Tue May 25, 2021 12:53 pm
I can’t see that the number of fans would be brought down to 2800.

There was some decent space between fans, everyone was wearing their masks and as is said before it’s mostly open aired.

The government guidelines clearly state what we are allowed and I can’t see any reason we should be subjected to harsher restrictions than those imposed by the government.

I would also hope that if this visit took place that this has been the case across all rugby league and sporting venues across sports by local council officials. Because if it hasn’t then one has to question why Wakefield would be subjected to this visit and not other venues. Sounds a bit underhanded to me.

Cas have had their capacity allowance increased which I find ludicrous. The one stadium in the league which is in worse state then BV.

I would like to think my information is wrong, but I’ve never had duff information before from this particular source, with a close connection to the club. I’m not sure if local councils can override government guidelines, but I’m sure they do as with by laws.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Council are interfering again as they seem to be over-zealous when it comes to Covid restrictions. They are still only allowing 16 people to attend funerals at Wakey Crematorium and 14 at Ponte whereas the Govt have now lifted restrictions nationally I believe and severe restrictions are still being enforced in Council buildings as well much to the annoyance of a lot of employees who were hoping for some relaxation of the rules in line with Govt guidelines.

I have no reason to doubt you but I hope your informant is off the mark. Seems very underhanded if so and I’m sure if it would have to be an official visit working with and consulting with the club. You have to consider measures to mitigate risk other than simply reducing capacity also afterall through process. There appeared absolutely no issue on the day. I was in the centre of the northstand too.

I’d seriously hope the club challenge it if so. Especially if Cas have it increased. The stadiums in terms of footprint must be very similar you’d think so it would seem very bizarre.
