Can i just ask are we all be happy with 20 defeats in last 23 v sl opposition..do we just watch our team get relagated without so much of a noise...not saying chester out is the right thing but wouldnt say its wrong either 50/50 for me

#CherryPicking

pick games including some of last season, except the first 4 where we were 2/4, count cup games, but only those against SL opposition, conflate part of last season with part of this season for best negative effect.

prior to lockdown we were 50% win rate, at the end of lockdown we were 66% win rate - see how easy it is?

In order to 'celebrate' Chris Chester's 150th competitive game in charge of Wakefield, I thought I'd collate his stats so far:

Team win % won played PD
Bradford 100% ( 1 / 1 ) 3
Dewsbury 100% ( 1 / 1 ) 48
Leigh 100% ( 2 / 2 ) 18
Sheffield Eagles 100% ( 1 / 1 ) 34
Toulouse 100% ( 1 / 1 ) 18
Widnes 88% ( 7 / 8 ) 101
Huddersfield 63% ( 10 / 16 ) 26
Salford 58% ( 7 / 12 ) -46
Hull K R 57% ( 4 / 7 ) 56
Catalans 44% ( 7 / 16 ) -137
Leeds 39% ( 5.5 / 14 ) 5
London 33% ( 1 / 3 ) -17
Wigan 33% ( 5 / 15 ) -32
Warrington 23% ( 3 / 13 ) -136
Hull FC 20% ( 3 / 15 ) -6
St Helens 14% ( 2 / 14 ) -213
Castleford Tigers 0% ( 0 / 11 ) -190
All Games 40% 60.5 150 -468
SL Opposition 39% 56.5 146 -571

Regular SL Games only:

Team win % won played PD
Leigh 100% ( 2 / 2 ) 18
Widnes 100% ( 6 / 6 ) 113
Huddersfield 67% ( 8 / 12 ) 28
Salford 60% ( 6 / 10 ) -47
Hull K R 57% ( 4 / 7 ) 56
Catalans 50% ( 6 / 12 ) -113
Leeds 35% ( 4.5 / 13 ) -27
London 33% ( 1 / 3 ) -17
Wigan 33% ( 4 / 12 ) -1
Warrington 30% ( 3 / 10 ) -51
St Helens 20% ( 2 / 10 ) -133
Hull FC 17% ( 2 / 12 ) -17
Castleford Tigers 0% ( 0 / 8 ) -109
Regular Season 41% ( 48.5 / 117 ) -300

Hull FC & Castleford seem to be the outliers.
Never beaten Cas
Only beaten Hull in the league twice but a points difference of only -17
How many teams from the top end of that table have we played so far this season?
We would need to win 10 games this season to match that average. Is that possible from the next 19?
IF we win 10 games, does CC get a contract extension?

Not cherry picking at all ive gone since lockdown and if you want to count games v lower league teams then your welcome go on pop an extra win from our fantastic victory v them in cup even put dewsbury pre season friendly in there...as things are going we will have no choice to put championship teams in the list next season...#deluded

For me both CC and MC share the responsibility.
I have no idea if Chesters a poor coach but he needs to be backed with money. The club must take action and provide Chester or any other coach with money to provide a reasonable squad.
Chester takes all the agro while his best chum gets plaudits for saving the club and steps back from tha flack at the present time.
Its a 2 way street Mr Carter provide the funds to give Chester a fighting chance,

Problem is there isn't money to get the 'real quality' !
As far as MC goes I would bear in mind that had it now been for him, there would probably be no WT at all never, mind one staring at the Championship.
For years we've punched above our weight, but this year the quality of our squad is just not there.

Love how JD is mentioned in the op. Isn’t he guaranteed Souths job next season.
