Well how the he'll does running a private academy operate without a license, why should anyone have a license when you can
have a private one & say sphericals to RFL & SL,
Also, any club not running an acadamy, are legally open to buying any player/s
If any father of a player was asked by his son, " dad, I am at Wakey, but both Cas & HKR, have offered a better deal for 3yrs,
Dad says to for the best deal & straight into main team pool etc ????

Fantastic news for Trinity and great work for all those that have worked so hard to get us there

However, what are the implications for those clubs who have not been awarded a license.
Will this, at some point in the future, preclude those clubs from competing in SL.

We know there is another re structure on the horizon and we know that the Sky monies are significantly lower on the new deal.

Is someone trying to engineer a different SL, perhaps with London and Newcastle in the frame ??

Cas, Leigh, Salford and HKR are the clubs without one.

while I'm pleased for the club I'm astonished Cas and KR have been rejected and didn't Leigh and Salford show no interest but I only see it as a backwards step for the game in general

Well done to all involved

How could a "private" academy be fully compliant to those handed out by The RFL / SL
Has it been made clear what the difference will be for having an academy license and not having one
and if you can "do your own thing", why bother applying for a "proper" license ?

Great news but what a crazy situation.
I can see problems down the road when it comes to recruitment. Keeping the best must be the outcome but it will probably prove difficult.
Still that bridge can be crossed further down the road.

Not knowing much about the Academy set up I really am confused now! We've been hoping for a licence, well I have, and now we've got one some people are worried that the likes of Cas and HKR will poach the players. For crying out loud!!! There is only us that could turn a big positive into a negative.

I just had a nosey on the Cas forum, a lot of the posters are not in the least bit surprised. Apparently there's been very little invested into the academy and that Powell wouldn't play them in the first team anyway.

But yes, strange how Newcastle and London managed to get in ahead of Cas and Hull KR.

Just found this gem on the nut job forum.

Only in Rugby League would you see a governing body's be so obsessed with getting rid of one of there best teams.

Think highly of themselves don’t they.
