Charity Suggestions - Predictions Comp 2021 : Fri Feb 12, 2021 1:18 am
OK, the first round of fixtures has been announced, so we must be getting closer to the start.

Looking for suggestions for charities. Any pointers will be appreciated

I'm happy to run a comp if there's interest in having one - even happier if someone else fancies doing it.. :D :CURTAIN:

Last year was somewhat disrupted, but we still managed £400+ to the 2 causes :ROCKS:

Will try to get back to using an online platform after the demise of the BT one.

I'd prefer one with no fees or charges, but the choices of charities seems to be limited.

Here's a list of some platforms for comparison.
https://charitydigital.org.uk/topics/to ... ities-5324

The 3 on there which have no charges or fees are:
https://www.totalgiving.co.uk/search?
https://www.givey.com

We're all Trin aren't we?

It really is close Coco! :D

Would be happy again to participate.
As a charity, I would like to suggest Men United, which raises money for prostate cancer research etc.
This is why I wear the "man" badge and end up looking like a seventies porn star in No/Movember......

It's getting closer.. :CHEF:

I'd like to use an online platform, but as a small fundraiser it needs to be cost efficient and preferably without fees and charges. Below is a link to a comparison of prices. Also, I'm not sure sure when we'll all be able to mingle at BV for wrencat1873 to do his debt collection duties.
https://d13kjxnqnhcmn2.cloudfront.net/A ... nchart.pdf

The best seems to be Total Giving
https://www.totalgiving.co.uk
with all the donation plus gift aid going to the charity.
However, not many charities are currently registered with the site.
Of the current suggestions only prostate cancer uk is listed.
https://prostatecanceruk.org

It's free for the charities to register, so I could contact a chosen charity and ask them to register with the site.

My own suggestion would be Andy's Man Club, which has an RL link having been set up by Luke Ambler following the death of his brother-in-law.
https://andysmanclub.co.uk

The last 12 months has had an effect on everyone's mental health, some more than others. I've been relatively very lucky with the limited impact the pandemic has had on me personally, but even I am feeling the effects and frustrations. Someone I know, who had been at the same company for 36 years and worked up from the shop floor to award-winning sales manager, was unexpectedly made redundant last year and he's having a particularly hard time dealing with it.

Anyway, the season starts this month, :ROCKS: so we need to get a move on :)
