Soooo, here we go again, another inquest after another disappointing display.......
I've just read Chesters' comments after the game, online wakey express page if anyones' interested Basically he's saying the attitude was all wrong, out enthused, out muscled, they were a desperate team, we weren't etc, etc.....
So since that second London game, which was the same as re. attitude, what are the reasons for total freefall and apparent apathy amongst the squad??
Injuries........yes obviously have disrupted us badly.......but, does that stop the players who are actually taking the field from putting the effort in?! Never mind actually playing well.
Players off contract etc.......isn't this the same at most clubs? Can we label certain individuals who are basically running the clock down until the end of the season for our demise?
Weather/conditions.......it seems every year people say, we'll be ok when the sun comes out, when the pitches firm up etc. I actually think we win more games statistically, in Feb, March & April, than we do in May, June & July!!
What has gone so badly wrong at the club in the last 2 months? Has there been an 'incident' that has been kept in house? I think the teams in the games we have been mullered in, which must be now 5 or 6! 'could' have put up a better fight than they have. Chester basically has run out of excuses now.........
I disagree with the "incident" part though I don't actually know, and the weather part
Clearly the weather made a difference. Hard grounds in UK is not the same as extreme weather in the south of France. Even the french are suffering in that heat at the moment. No one enjoys going the play out there in the summer. Every club comments on it. We have a better record out there than most if not all clubs.
At the end of the day, some players are not ready to play but have to because we don't have any more. Tupou is clearly not match ready yet. No one can question his intent after seeing him play in the past. Fifita is pretty much the same. We are carrying him because we can't do without him even if he is busted. Compare that to Catalan who rested their best players and those same players played like fresh ready to go players with a good attitude. I get that we have to improve if we don't want to be worrying about relegation and crowd numbers dropping but for me it's a question of capability not effort or intention.
That's not to say I wouldn't change some things round, but it isn't just a question of attitude alone.

So do you disagree with CC'S after match comments then? That's why I put a ? after the incident quote, i'm just trying to come up with reasons why??
The problem is, yes maybe Fifita shouldn't be playing etc, but when a starting player gets injured, and have a period out, they obviously hopefully come back when 'medically' fit to play? If it is actually the case that half of those players are genuinely crocked, have niggles, whatever, then I would have more respect for Chester if in a press conference he clearly states which players are basically functioning at 50, 60%? Which then may offer a reason/excuse as re. performances then??! I also can't believe that other clubs aren't suffering the same with injuries, players playing when perhaps they shouldn't be??
A few more ???'s while i'm at it.......why let MCB go to the Cayman islands is it? Why put Tupou on the wing when Kershaw could have played? Why play Pauli again, a player which he has publicly slagged off, when Arundel could have played in the back row? Why continue to play a half fit Brough, if indeed he is half fit, when we have a fully fit Reynolds? Unless he's on the sick list as well......

I doubt anyone would enjoy playing in that heat I agree, but again that comes down to mentality, knowing you are going to be facing that and how you apply yourself and cope with it? If you want to find excuses in any walk of life they are not hard to find are they. If most of them walked out on that pitch and thought, nah just can't be bothered today, you could have Wayne Bennett, Mother Teresa or God in charge, and it wouldn't make much difference would it, so I do have some sympathy for Chester, he can't be responsible for each individuals personal effort........but, this is happening too often now, so you have to get to the bottom of why, they 'appear' to be not playing for him anymore.......
