Last night brought back the nightmares of the 2015 season, last week brought back the nightmares of a Richard Agar coached team. But despite these setbacks, embarrassing setbacks, I have no doubt we will finish in the top 8. Most probably 8th, but in the top 8 nonetheless. In my view two wins and a draw will be enough to secure our place and it is doable. Saints and Leeds at home are the two most important games now. And I am confident out of Hudds, Wigan and Catalans away we can get something. Chris Chester has been a revelation and surprised me no end. The Catalans game has clearly taken the stuffing out of some of the players.
Wakey have got to be careful, look at Widnes, they were the greatest thing since sliced bread was introduced and suddenly it all fell apart, 8 losses in super league on the bounce. its going to be tough to get those two wins from last 6 games but its doable, we really need a helluva much improvement for our next game to lift the spirit of the team.
Why is everyone so worried. Hull kr have to win 3 out of 6 just to catch us. Salford need 3 wins from 7, unless they get some points back. And even if these two teams do catch us, they'll catch widnes aswell. One more win will be enough for 8th I reckon.

Widnes need 1 win to overtake us. Salford are more than capable of getting 3 from 7. The plus is that many of those are against teams around us.
Although we may need only one or two more wins to secure top 8, at this point in the season with where we are in the league, it would be a major disappointment to scrape into the top 8. We are currently 6th, on merit and we need to get back to winning ways. Our fans are both fickle and tight fisted in equal measure and if we make the top 8 and then get tonked every week, we would start next season with fewer fans than if we had battled through the qualifiers. We cannot and should not be content with just playing out the games, we should now be aiming to finish as high as possible in SL and maybe progress a little further in the cup. We have already beaten Wigan, Warrington and Catalan and we should be trying to win every game that we have left.
I know it's not likely to happen but, we have to get back on the horse and do the things that helped us win 8 from 10.

I think one of our main problems now is our points difference. we now have the second worst in superleague after the last two heavy defeats. In an increasingly tight league with not much in it, points difference may decide the last place in the top 8. We cannot afford anymore big points diff. defeats.

I agree that once there, I'd love to see them on a run, but I'll be happy to avoid the middle 8's. Anything else is a bonus. I don't think we'll ever see a bottom 4 with teams as good in it (if we accept Leeds, Salford and Hudds are capable of so much more) and we might not see Championship teams as good as Leigh are, because eventually the owners will see no return for the investment and begin to cut back on it (or else the league will change the format if the championship clubs never make it and go back to one-up, one-down).
The Trinity pack will be boosted by England, Kirmond, Moore and hopefully Fafita within the next week or so. The backs should have Jowitt and Ben Jones Bishop back....With those fit and in the 17 we should win a couple more games before the end of the season surely...
