Not everyone, had Wakey top on up town was stopped by a few people who were talking a bit and they were amazed when I said we had play off game at home. Kind of sums it up, but still the promo team need to get them selfs out there more and get people to realise what is going on., I am sure if they put some time and effort in it will add people to the gate. Make people more aware than ever.

Poor?

Still think most will pay on gate as there was never any chance that it would be a sell out

To be fair most people I know who are going are paying on the door.
Should be a decent walk up (with regards to the actual attendance) so I wouldn't be too worried about ticket sales.

Not having a go at you as I know you mean well. Talk to Jimmy Elston he knows all about marketing at wakey and he also knows about doing the same at HKR. Both clubs are a world appart, he will tell you HKR don't need to spend a penny on marketing, their supporters love the club and will turn up for everything.
I have been watching our club for years and I really used to think if we got a good side people would turn up like they did in the 60's. The only lifeline I am clutching is the new ground because in all fairness Belle Vue now fails to offer the modern match day experience. If people don't come back to RL when we get our ground we may as well pull the plug on RL in this City.

And I do agree with what you say, we should not need to promote it but the sad fact is we do. We need to try something to get people back to the games. This season, our best season in super league and yet they still don't turn up.

Dreading to see how many turn up tonight, if they don't tonight when willt hey turn up? Certianly can't see them coming next season :(

Because some have other interests to spend time on, or frankly, just want to go see the first team and aren't that bothered to go watch our other teams.

I doubt thousands turn up to watch Leeds United's youth or even womens teams on a regular basis, and they've got a much bigger fan base.

Yes, it's a struggle when we're on the telly, but speak to people and they still have negative views on the club from the dramas of the dim and distant past.

Yeah well we all do, not bothered about the youth structure and supporting that, not really club supporters then are they.

Excuses thats all.

Thats true in some cases i agree but things change and move on, just more excuses IMO.

It's not like the academy games are promoted very well. Some times people are suprised to find out they even had a home game.

As for todays game, not been in town centre today but would have been good if there was a promo team there to advertise the game, we have something to be proud about so let's shout about it. Even if it just adds a few onto the game it's still a sucess!

Let's hope we are all suprised by the attendance tonight, in a good way!!

Wakey fans should know when the Academy/Reserve grade play, thats what being a fan involves, programmes/website/wakey express what more do you need.

Yes the Promo team could do more but i doubt the budget is enough to do cover it all.

Lets face it the people of Wakey don't care and unless we hit the younger ones now (and look at the grief the dancers get) and attract the future age group we are on a downward spiral.

Bet you 5000 people watch the game in the pubs tonight around Wakey and spend more that 18 quid doing it. They won't come no matter what the marketing team do in the city centre.

Club could make more people aware, announce it at games etc. As for programmes there not worth the money, not bought one for ages.

I used to go to every reserve/Academy game but this season i've missed most. Used to be great when they played before the first team.

I enjoy watching the academy they play some good rugby, but I don't have many complaints at the numbers that turn up.
