Outwood grange beat Cas high at wembley!!! : Sat Aug 29, 2009 1:00 pm  

breaking news!
In the only game that matters today at wembley, outwood grange have just beaten Cas High in the pre non important game, details are sketchy at present cos i cant hear whats being said at the other end, but it looks like they were behing 8-6 at half time and came back to wiin 20-12 at full time.

Great effort from all involved, trophys being paraded round the hollowed turf as we speak!

once again the kids trophy remains in Wakefield , last year it was normington.

coupe this with the academy Wakefield will be well looked after for a few years yet

yet again a cas side comes 2nd though , says a lot for the area that yes we can cope with 2 teams .....time and time again the finalists come from within the district.

quite a lot of stanley players in the winning team , with juniors from lock lane , panthers ect in the defeated finalists.

well done to both and well done , yes well done to the schools ans WMDC for allowing the sport to flourish

7 of the 16 teams that reached the Carnegie schools cup finals were from the Wakefield or Castleford area.

at the boys levels the winning teams were

year 7 outwood btn castleford high
year 8 ?
year 9 freeston btn finalist castleford high
year 10 castleford btn wade deacon "widnes"

great stuff . Academy won the league and now the a wakefield school win at wembley. All the talent in our area at the mo is un real and yet we may not be in SL in a couple of years. Disgrace!
