A Fathers' Day present for a Rugby League Dad maybe! : Wed May 20, 2009 8:45 pm
Anyone looking for a Fathers' Day present might find it useful to call in at WH Smith in the Ridings Centre on Saturday (May 23rd). I'll be there from 11 onwards signing copies of my latest novel 'One Autumn' which has a background of Work, Family Life and Rugby League during the 1992/93 season.
Also on sale will be the Rugby League Review No. 2 which in its 150 pages has articles from some 25 RL writers on a wide range of topics including a review of the Eddie Waring biography, the prospects for Rugby League in Cuba, a good plug for our game from David Watkins, a call to get rid of the video ref, how cricket helped pave the way for rugby league to be established in Australia and 11 obituaries including a three page one of David Topliss.
Also on sale is 'The Indomitables', an account of that famous 1946 Rugby League Lions Tour of Australia and New Zealand with a team that included two former Wakefield players Eric Batten and Harry Murphy.
