If it's any consolation, it wasn't your point that annoyed most people it was your assertion that we were all a bit stupid and were taking things lightly.
You're not alone in doing that but it's daft. I don't think you'll find many Trinity fans who are blindly optimistic snd cocky with it like you might in Cas.
We are fully aware of our club's ability to get it wrong, certainly in the past. We are also all thoroughly aware that even taking COVID and injuries into account we have not had a good 18 month, we could and should have done a bit better.
The difference is most of us see that as being in the past. We look at our squad and if you're being honest you have to say it looks decent. We remember how that team was performing and see no reason why it can't do so again. Sure there will always be a natural turn around in players due to age etc but overall its a good squad that just needed some tweaking and some confidence, something I think we regained in the last five games.
Hence there is no need to rip the squad apart, we just need to replace certain players with similar or hopefully better players. I think we are still in the process of doing that.
Great news from last night is that MC said the entire squad was fit! That hasn't been the case for two seasons, that alone is a massive boost. A fully fit Arona and Fifita is a massive plus for any team, ditto the rest.
So no need to be negative, we know Leigh will be all guns blazing, we know there is not a single easy beat team in SL but if we start well there is no reason why we can't compete. If we don't and we carry on as last season then fair enough there will be misery for all but why trouble yourself about that now? Now at this moment, all teams are equal on nil points.
Have as nicer Christmas as possible
