These players you call the dregs have kept us in SL for 16 seasons where as your beloved supertars at Salford are one game away from oblvion - show some respect.

One major plus of retaining our SL status 2 months ago, compared with last season (not knowing till the last game), is that weve had a extra time to try and sort things out and hopefully this will help.

It would be great if we could afford a couple of "names" to get the fans excited and create a buzz ahead of the new season.

You're one of the best posters on here IMHO but i think you're wrong about names.

I personally don't think they do anything to increase season ticket sales or increase interest past the first game. If by names you were talking Thurston them perhaps but Sam Williams and Soward though known to geeks like us are of no interest to the wider public.

What gets people interested is winning your early games something we have failed to do since JK was last here and then hopefully finish on a high for next year.

My personal opinion is that the club will only really kick start it's relationship with the population of Wakefield when we finally go to Wembley or Old Trafford (same for most clubs). The last significant surge in interest in the club came directly off the 2004 play offs and 2008 CCup (close) semi final.

That's how I see it.

It looks like Williams used us as a 'bargaining' tool to get another contract at Canberra.
If the player wasn't that keen on coming, did we really want him and spent unnecessary time pursuing him?
Sideshow Bob was the last one we pursued who didn't really want to come and that didn't turn out too well.
