1. It's costing HALF of the number you put
2. There is funding from a few sources
3. Cas have more "right" to be a SL club then Quins (so do Wakey)

But lets not let that get in the way of your inane unfounded ramblings eh?

Teams up to now earned the right to be in Super League by their performance on the field. Up to now Harlequins fulfil that criterion as do Wakefield and Castleford.

Their is no 'other' right

No I don't suppose he will be!

and neither would anyone think that Castleford would share a stadium with Wakefield if it were at Ossett or some other location west of Wakefield City centre.

Stanley however is in virtual no mans land between the two.

complete tool we have planning permission, completed feasability studies and now design briefs - wakefield are welcome to come join us at Glasshoughton!

You have outline planning permission
I could get outline permission to build a life size replica of the eiffel tower in my grandads alotment.

I hav'nt seen any publication of feasability studies, though I'll stand corrected if you point me in the direction of them.

A draft design brief
Are you seriously arguing that this is a major step forward?

I have a design brief for a Back to the Future style flux capacitor.
If only I had some plutonium and a lot of cash I might be able to make it a reality.

With a view to full planning permission which will be granted upon completion of architect designs and design brief.

The feasibility study hasn't been published I believe, but has been completed - in fact it was completed last year.

Funding is in place from numerous areas including naming right, sale of the Jungle and another means which can't be said but a few Cas fans know what.

Tigers CEO Richard Wright said: “The design brief and schedule of facilities documents are important working documents that will now provide the basis upon which we can go forward and ultimately design and build the stadium. Whilst we have known for sometime the broad outline of what the new stadium will look like, together with its facilities, these documents turn those ideas into a practical working concept to now enable us to progress the matter to the next important stage.

“The draft of the design brief is now complete and we will be meeting with Waystone and Wakefield MDC in the next few weeks. The next key step is the appointment of a firm of architects and we plan to run a design competition and will be inviting interest from a number of Architects who we would wish to work with. We will be providing each with a copy of the design brief and asking them to provide an outline plan for us to consider, and ultimately select a firm to move forward with.”

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be over sceptical and I do honestly wish Cas all the best but . .

This reminds me of an old comedy sketch where the police call a news conference as part of their UK wide hunt for the most dangerous serial killer we ever knew. When they get the press's attention they announce that they've come up with a nick name for the killer!

I would like to know how committed the WMDC is to the scheme, they was also committed to the new trinity walk development but made a complete farce of it, after sitting and listening to the meeting they made it clear that neither club would benefit from the WMDC but personally I wouldn't care if they did as long as ours was aided too

Can I just ask, would some of you be acting so cynical if it was Wakefield in Cas' position (whatever position that may be) ?

I am equally cynical about both projects and would be whichever club was involved. Wont believe either till I'm sat in them.

WMDC had nowt to do with the financing of trinity walk, that was down to the developer Modus and the Irish government. Modus went to the Allied Irish bank for the finance who agreed to the deal, however when the bank went tits up in the credit crunch and was nationalised the Irish government pulled the plug on the finance in favour of investing in home developments.
As with our ground WMDC were really only enablers in bringing the relevant parties together, spending our money on the development was never on the agenda as far as the council was concerned, just as it isn't with our new ground, so commitment from the council will only go as far as helping to cut through the legal stuff as quickly as possible, the rest, as with Cas, is up to the developers, and their commitment will decide whether it gets built or not.
