| Quote Slugger McBatt="Slugger McBatt"It probably already is and always has been. The raised platform that runs along the back of the east stand is because the entrances are at the back of the seating. If you think of the Cats bar, you go up steps to it, but it sits higher than the pitch. The tunnel that used to emerge from the centre of the east stand didn't have any steps. It was a straight run to the dressing rooms at the back.
The car park and pitch have always been the same level.'"
Correct, though it wasn’t easy to visualise.
So the access gap will be flat allowing vehicles etc to get straight onto the pitch.

| I guess what it also does is free up the space at the South end that would have needed to be kept clear.

| The old tunnel that ran from the centre of the east stand definitely did have steps up to ground level. It was a short walk across to the old changing rooms.

| You know a little more than many on the stadium plans...wouldn't something similar to the re-covering of the North terracing be a suitable measure for the West terrace?
It would easily solve the elevation issues. We (or rather away fans) can cope without a roof!

Not sure who you're asking but I'll answer.
Adding terracing is actually pretty difficult, especially on the West terrace. The rear wall for a start is too low and probably needs replacing, the safety certification is tougher as are the planning regs. If we are to add as we have on the north it may require more remedial work, rather than just plonking it on, but that's just my opinion.
The easiest solution by a mile is to install temporary seating all the way along. Way cheaper, no planning restrictions, far lower safety regs and so on.
If we bought second hand we could probably do it for 100k. You may lose some capacity, you may not but for away fans it would be a far better experience.
A depth something like we have in front of the boxes would suffice.
No cover I accept but it's still an upgrade and would look fairly neat.
Not for this season but maybe next, it's interesting whats out there (obviously we'd have it running the length)...

Apologies - I was asking you actually - I'll blame the awful wifi I'm for distracting me.
Yes, your response makes perfect sense.
I'd also considered just levelling the concourse and putting on temporary seating. Neatly solves a lot of issues in the medium term, until the club is in a position to invest further.

When I first wrote it I didn't realise they come with roofs now, the top one looks especially good - you've got at least 10 years of life there and it's possibly enough to get a Grade A with the seating in front of the boxes.

There are lots of alternatives for the West Stand but to me, the boxes have to go if you are doing anything for the image of the place

| Have we replaced the luxury plastic seats from in front of the west stand or are we sticking with the retro look.

MC has always said the western terrace boxes had to stay because it’s where the tv cameras are positioned on the odd occasion Sky are at BV, and will now show on tv the new East Stand in all its glory.
Also, when the East Stand was being demolished, press and radio reporters used the upper section for viewing the game and were quite complimentary about the views from that position. But yes, the boxes themselves are an eyesore and need to go at the earliest opportunity.
