Look Eastern you're entitled to your opinion but before you dismiss mine so quickly with your trite comments let me give you an object lesson.

In 2004 Prince Buster and myself suggested the idea of a supporters group to pursue a community stadium.

The much-maligned Ted Richardson quickly realised that an independent supporter’s group would have far more impact persuading the council for support than the club alone.

Hence SWAG was born and with the addition of TRB and Jinjer and with the club supporting in the background we started all this.

SWAG is the forerunner to todays Trust in case you're wondering.

For the first five years I was on the coalface and I travelled miles and spent literally hundreds of hours working on the SWAG agenda.

In that time I met with numerous Council representatives including Box, Jeffery's and Clive Hudson and all three at various times looked me in the eye and said Ossett was a goer, Thornes was a certainty whist NM simply couldn't fail.

I know what snakes these people are from first hand experience and I’m sorry but you simply don't.

I've heard this all before and I see no more validity to this than any other - you just see what you want to see.

However what truly offends me and if you weren’t so insular it would offend you is that this even if it happens is totally unsatisfactory in reality.

Just because we get what we want and I always wanted to stay at BV if possible a huge swindle will have taken place - why don't you get that.

Acres of valuable green belt has been conned into the hands of a private investor who will simply not deliver anything like what he promised but will make millions.

Our council has been complicit in this.

Where are all the other facilities Eastern? Where are the plastic pitches the sports halls and all the other community facilities? Hell where is the car parking!

You're being robbed blind and you just can't see it. I didn't sign up for this. I'm happy enough with he BV element should it ever actually happen which I doubt but what about the rest, do we let them walk away scott free?

In all conscience I can't because I'm complicit in this. I helped make people believe they were getting something they are clearly not. I don't blame the club for taking whatever is on offer but the people of WMDC should be up in arms. I'll say again you're being robbed blind and a lot of people have been stitched up - not least the residents of NM.

You go justify to them why instead of a wonderful community facility on their doorstep they now have numerous monstrosities to look at.

You need to think a little more and see past the obvious. I don't think you and others on here are bad people but I do think there is far too much self-interest and way to many blind eyes.

It still stinks, end of.

I've no interest in Chissitt's opinions but even if I have he's not in this discussion is he.

I may well be a little naive here but I'm hoping BV is re built and community facilities, plastic pitches etc will also be built at Newmarket, I don't believe it will but I can dream. Has the (at the time) threat of legal action been the kick up the arris that WM and Yorkcourt needed, or have we been out manoeuvred? Was the last set of negotiations just to steer us away from legal action? It's all very wearing to hear the same sort of waffle year in year out and cynic in me thinks that's all it is, waffle.

Well I'm glad someone has finally said it vasty as I didn't d have the heart to take the undoubted flack that would come with it. I read this forum as it gives me & the outlaws something to talk about & it infuriates me the way private developers rinse the public & so many people are too easily bought off with scraps from the table (& before anyone asks; I've been equally disapproving of the 5Towns scheme). The truth is that people, in general, are selfish & don't see beyond their own selfish wants so most don't care about the absolute daylight robbery of what's happening here & in countless other areas in the country. That is until it's too late, then they're all up in arms looking for someone to blame.

Even if the community facilities are still built at NM which I feel is unlikely; what use are they there? Stuck in the middle of nowhere with nothing else to draw the crowds in - the public transport infrastructure just isn't there & wont be anytime soon; so how will the facilities be utilised by the whole district? They cant & wont be, but people don't care cos they've had their faces in the trough, got what they wanted & moved on. You're right. It stinks.

Lord Ted must have been that confident that his five lieutenants would achieve his dream of a new stadium he sold the old one first.

I know It's probably just an oversight on your part but you've missed KK off your committee.

There are times when compromises have to be made to achieve something , even if it is not totally what you were aiming for.

No I haven't Klav was not in the initial set up - he joined up a few years later. That said he did some great stuff.

As for Ted what he did later doesn't alter that being a good idea does it.

Also he didn't sell the ground he put it up as collateral, get your facts right because they are very different things. What was really wrong was that he didn't disclose the fact which was blatently wrong.

However are you so judgemental you only judge people on their successes - I mean I am not worthy in your presence because I've made loads of mistakes.

Because it's not about Trinity it's about the community - you have been to BV have you, you have noticed that only a tiny percentage of the population care?

I know this will make me more unpopular than ever but I don't care, you're dispalying the same self interest as eveyone else.

Why shoul the ratepayers of WMDC pay for a RL club to get it's groud revamped without getting any of the promissed community element - thats not compromise that a cop out - please justify how this is right by the ratepayers and residents of NM I'll sleep better if someone can.

Don't get me wrong it suits me down to the ground if it comes off andthe selfish me will learn to live with it I'm sure and if this is what we get then sure I'll take it as I have no choice - but it still stinks and you've still been robbed.

Well ginger and trb weren't in the original set up either.

This thread is not about Ted you brought him into it not me I merely pointed out he sold the old ground before we had a new one, and as much as I'd like to discuss the merits and the failings of the man this is not the time, I do notice though that you admit to some of his failings regarding the club.

What does surprise me though is you now accept that you are prone to mistakes like the rest of us plebs, very christian of you
