There is only one area where HKR look a better prospect than Wakey - their excellent, passionate crowd-base.

That said, no-one ever left one club to join another because of the attendances.

The point is, Batch thinks so, and that is what mattered this time.

No one has said he has gone there for trophies. But he clearly thinks his chance of progression is better there.
It's a personal development thing I would think.
Playing in your favoured position
Playing in a team you think will develop you
Playing somewhere a bigger club will spot you
And being paid well I guess too.

It's not to say Wakefield isn't a good place to be. But he thinks Hull KR is better for him right now.

Apart from Batch himself...

“I want to really kick on at KR and be challenging for things every year. I want to win some silverware. I think we can do something special as a team."

If he wanted trophies, he wouldn't have picked HKR.

Mate it's not 14 million though, sure you didn't mean 1.4 million.

If it's costing 14 million to extend that one terraced stand then prices really have gone up!

Or are you just quoting the initial cost of the Millward stand that was built about 4 years ago?

Judging by his own passion for HKR as against his obvious disappointment for us, it seems his preference could be based on that, unless he's just using Batch to get a dig in at the club where it seems pretty obvious where his loyalties lie, he has remarked a few times on here how he felt let down by the club.

They are looking to buy the surrounding land and redevelop the old east stand.
Clearly just plans at the moment but what they are aiming for looks impressive.

I'm not sure why some are being defensive though. Them doing well doesn't make Wakefield any less good.
What we are developing with ground, youth development and coaching team is incredible and players will want to come to us.
Batch just wanted to move for his own reasons.

Looking at a press article on Total RL , it states they have plans to demolish the West stand and replace it with something better. To me the West stand is the large original main stand next to the car park. That is strange, as it looks an excellent facility. I would have thought the far end behind the sticks would get a stand first. They must be awash with money if this is true

Not sure anyone is being defensive PT, rather just pointing out the actual truths in the situation in terms of where both clubs are at, which for me isn`t million miles apart as seems to have been made out here. In reality, there isn`t much between Wakefield and Hull KR other than as someone has said previously a bigger core fan base by a couple of thousand.

As for Batch, of course he is going to come out and give the usual; it`s a club on the up, we have a chance of trophies, I love the coaches philosophy etc he`s hardly going to come out and say they offered me more money, that`s why I'm here.

Well as it goes I happen to know a fella who is a senior partner in a global security business or so he says and is by his own admission along with his family massive KR fans, maybe he's bank rolling them.

I was thinking East Stand was the one near the car park. Might have that the wrong way around.
But that's what I thought they were developing. The seating area is old now compared to modern stadiums.
