Heard a few names battered about, most of which have already been mentioned.

Adam Quinlan is another I have heard - Also Saints seem to be chasing Kirmond pretty hard.

Thats my worry with him, he seems to have spent a lot of time suspended this season. It's fair to say with 3 seperate suspensions and 8 games missed it is an area we'd need improvement from him in. He'd be 32 by the start of next season though so can you teach an old dog new tricks? We need full value for money from our overseas signings.

The Anthony Tupou rumour is an interesting one. He has been a real good player for a lot of years but having seen pretty much all the NRL this year he has at times looked like he has been held together with sticky tape (not withstanding the horror broken jaw he suffered). He'd be 33 early next year and his best days are behind him but i can see the merit if Ali is retiring as it gives the team a ball handler in the backrow. But there is talk that Lauitiiti is now having a rethink! Not sure having two with a combined age of about 70 is a good idea!

Ashley Gibson is the kind of signing we like to make. He's a decent enough player and can cover wing or centre equally competently. Not sure whether he'd be an actually improvement on what we have had this year but he wouldn't let anyone down and i doubt would cost the earth.

Greg Eden has always been a mystery. Bags of pace and can score tries for fun but you just know a brain fart is around the corner. If he has tightened up that side of his game in Australia he would be an asset to a lot of teams but as has been said, is fullback a priority or should we be spending the money elsewhere? With Jowitt, Tansey and Hall contracted next season then maybe so.

Ryan Hamshire i'd like but i've a feeling there would be a few clubs interested in him if he was to become available. Maybe a years loan deal would suit both us & Wigan?

Can't beat rumour season! For me an organising scrum half is absolutely key if the club don't want to find itself in the same position next season. At least one if not two props will also be required as well depending on re-signings. So anymore names being banded about?

If they pay decent money id sell Kirmond. Not been great for 2 years, lots of injuries. I feel he's burnt out carrying the team.

How much truth is there in the Kirmond rumours? I feel like he's a name that gets coated about every year so didn't pay much attention - but it is starting to come from more trustworthy posters as time comes on ...

He'd go better with better players around him, where he doesn't feel he has to lead the way and do everything all game every game. He still is a damn good player though as he has shown this last couple of weeks but if we were to invest any transfer fee back into the squad then maybe. The problem is though the significance of it, after the great escape flogging your captain and perceived star player never looks good.

agreed. I can see what you mean but IMO he is costing too much money to be on the side lines. Your captain needs to be durable and on the field. Washbrook would have been ideal but that ship has sailed. BS chose Scruton. I'm happy with that. I'd say our biggest signing will be our coach. Get BS on board a full preseason with a full squad using his son as the fitness guru and I'd be lookiking forward very much to the new season. 2 new specialist centres, Bill on the wing Johnson on the other and a quality half back with a kicking game. We'd be finishing where hull / hull KR did this season. And it's all about building on those foundations. We've had a repreve let's not go back there again. I'm hoping the local community sees that the club is on solid foundations now, no debt and making a profit. They will be safety invest in the club again.

Good post, but I'm not sure I would be happy to see Kirmond go after getting him fit again, wasn't he supposed to be the foundation we were building the club around.
