Best Coaster was The Hulk closely followed by the Cracken.
Spider man was good
Terminator was the best 3D show
Stunt car show was pretty breathtaking as well

Love Florida for a holiday, wish it were'nt so bloody expensive to go.

PS. Been there three times, 1991/1997/2007 and it's amazing how much it's changed and grown in that time. Me and the kids (young adults now) have all pledged to go there one more time as a family before life forces us all down our seperate and individual paths.

You HAVE to do the 2 Universal parks. They are crammed with world class rides - and it is worth considering getting the express pass - depending on when you go.

Other rides you have to do inc the Harry Potter one & the Simpsons. At Disney, the Tower of Terror is great fun, the Rock'n'Roller Coaster is a must if you haven't done the one in Paris and the Himalayan adventure one in Animal Kingdom is terrific. I'm with the Clan on this one - but 2 weeks was as much as we could take - it's absolutely exhausting! :SLEEPY:

Re: O/T The Chat Thread : Thu Sep 23, 2010 10:44 am
I wasn't expecting the Aerosmith ride to be so intense! Wife hated it.

Gotta say behind my favourite ride 'splash mountain' the 'Harry Potter Forbidden Journey' is something very special, I suppose neutrals who don't worship Potter like me might prefer the excellent 'Spidey ride.' 'Terminator' show was mind blowing but I slightly prefered the 'Bugs life' 4D experience as it totally creeped me out.

A few days after riding the 'Rip Rockit' ride at Universal it closed due to safety fears. I ended up reading about incidents at Disney when I got back home and it's surprising just how many people have been injured or killed at Disney alone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incidents_at_Disney_parks

This is the 4th time I've been to the US for Disney (1985/1992/1994/2010 I'll never grow up) but the flight (past hurricanes!) this time was pretty horrendous at times and I don't think I can do it again :(

A quick advert:

I've recently spent 2 weeks holidaying in Orlando - at the Villa owned by our very own Sandal Cat.

Can I just say that, even with 10 adults and a 2 year old, we had plenty of room, good facilities and a very nice pool. It's all looked after by English agents (one of them is a Bulls fan - but we'll forgive that), and it has all the amenities you could need. It is also around 10 minutes from the gates Disney and around 30 minutes from Orlando Int Airport (or 1hr from Sanford if you fly with Monarch from Manchester). All for a very reasonable rate!

If you are thinking of doing the Florida thing, make sure you speak to SC before making plans - you will be impressed by how helpful and how reasonable it all is! 8)

I'll keep that in mind, we have always stayed at a villa when we've been an I wouldn't want to do it any other way.

There was a yellow shirt in the window of a shop in Old Town Kissimee, the shirt had the picture of a school bus on it and under the bus it said "Stop the bus and let my brother Jack off." At first I frowned and gave a little smirk, but ten minutes later I couldn't stop laughing.

It hasn't been Empire Stores for donkeys years! I think it's Redacts now, or La Redoute, a big French mail order outfit. My understanding is that they're moving their operations to the new waterfront development in Wakey, so the Lupset site is shutting down.

I worked there about 20 years ago; it was me, a couple of other young blokes and an office of several hundred women - good times!

It's been pulled down, well most of it anyway. I drove past the other day and couldn't believe it's gone.
