GET EM ON SIDE REF wrote:
Very unfair Sundays result was a win yes and 2 points but even the most rose tinted supporter could not hide from the fact that it was a dire contest against a Salford side who did not want to know for 30 minutes the tries were very soft to say the least the marking was non existent for the Latu try having said that you can only beat what is put in front of you
We played very basic error free pen free RL for 30 minutes but apart from one korki clean break and a very well work try in the 2nd half it was dire the support play was non existent the passing speed slow and the off load game non existent
Don’t get we wrong I will take a win any day of the week but this was a very poor Salford side who should have being taken to the cleaners in the 2nd half
There was an interesting discussion after the game which I was party to. It went something along the lines of 2+ years ago that would have been exactly the type of game we would have been walking away from, scratching our heads saying 'how is it we can beat Leeds one week and lose to Salford another'. We are now a totally different outfit who not only (on Sunday) integrated a new player but tried a variety of new combinations and got a few more miles on the clock for some extremely promising youngsters.
The thing that frustrates the hell out of me is that so many people are on here going on as if Danny Brough means everything to our club. The fact is, and I have said it numerous times on here, we have consistently played better without him on the field (and I am not just talking about 10 minutes at Hull KR but numerous examples over the previous two seasons.) I may be in a minority but I long to see the back of Brough and remove a disruptive and damaging influence from our squad. I think we will be much stronger for it.
