Do you have any shares? If so I’m guessing that you would get to see the accounts at the AGM which should answer a lot of the question you have.
With regards to stepping aside, well, there appears to be no one in the wings. Mr France recently ceased his involvement in the racing team he had so I’m guessing the interest he was apparently showing a while back may also have been withdrawn. Richardson has put his hands in his pockets before and acted as a guarantor the last time the club were really in the mire so maybe he has this time.
humour me, assume I don't have any shares, and answer my questions, because I don't know and I presume i'm not on my own there.
If we can persuade planning to let us build a new ground, maybe we can convince other investors with our 15000 petition, because this lot are not showing up in a good light.
And just because someone has done a good job once, does not mean they are infalable, everything has a shelf life, what must remain constant is the club, not the stewardship.
not me, you are here on merit on what goes on on the pitch, whether the RFL puts any store by that is another matter
cheers mate, yes we are here on merit, year in year out, against a lot of odds, but enough of the sentiment.
We cannot be allowed to make ourselves look idiots to the Rl world.
We may no be the only ones up the creek, but were the only ones I truly care about.
Lots of clubs are probably in a similar situation but actually make arrangements to pay and keep to them with us leaving everything to the last minute (or after in our case).
Just how badly can we stuff up!!! Amazingly well and the timing with the stadium leaves us a laughing stock (not for the first time)
Having been a long time supporter of the club I’ve seen many ups & downs, mainly downs, both on the field & financially. I thought the club had finally found an even footing but, apparently not.
Who the hell is the accountant for the club? Surely they should have been shouting from the rooftops about this debt, if not, they should be dismissed, if they have then, those who have ignored the enormity of the situation should resign.
This is the tax man we’re talking about, they have a heart of stone.
There are a number of people, many who post on here, who are busting a gut to help this club succeed, whether it be as part of SWAG, running round for signatures, or buying shares and / or season tickets, which many are struggling to afford, just because they love their club.
Yet paid people, whether accountants or members of the board are putting the club at jeopardy through incompetence, because, that’s what it is. It’s no use bleating about lower revenue streams, due to the recession blah, blah, you cut your cloth to suit.
The only reason I’ve been on here of late, is to see if DB has signed a new contract, because JK has built a good squad for next season and that would have been the cherry on the cake. Now however I think it’s time to call DB’s bluff. Somebody has messed up big time, there is no spare cash, take it or leave it.
If he decides he wants more, then get some cash for him, let some Aussie coach manage him, and see how DB likes it, because he doesn’t appear to have in the past. Yes we will be a much poorer team without him, but judging on this season, success isn’t important with the Wakefield public. Spend some of the money saved on X Factor rejects - they’ll come and watch them.
Just to say Good Luck from a Halifax Fan.
The problem with Rugby League and all sports is that we all (Directors/Sponsors and Fans) love to see a competative team out on the pitch . This however costs a lot of money and its a bit like the chicken and the egg, E.G.. Danny Brough is a great player for you guys and you want to keep him, but to keep him you have to pay him more money which you cant really afford, but if you let him go you will lose some supporters and money through the turnstiles which again you cant really afford. So what is the answer ?
We have been through it at Fax many times and to be fair to the people running the clubs its is a bloody hard job. If we invest in a better squad it will bring in more fans but if we have a midseason slump and some fans stop coming we still have the wages/Tax/VAT etc etc to find. Its easy for us fans to be up in arms when this sort of thing happens but we are all guilty of wanting sucess and after all whats the point in running a business if you dont want to strive to improve ?
Once again Good Luck .
i think the people running our club treat it like there little baby, a job for you son,and one for you daughter its pathetic, weve just had our best finish in ages, were trying to get a new ground. the whole thing is a shambles, wheres all the coin off, wheres the atkins money off. theres too many on the wakefield trinity gravy train, we need fresh blood on the board who are forward thinking, we the supporters dont deserve whats coming but if we dont see any sign of this ground then they will kick us out, the club is run by prats.

Thats what alot of people think.
Yep, we need professionals not family members.
If that happens - Game over.
No-ones mentioned it yet so ill put it in the boling pot !
How about those share options that were offered ? How do we know if they have been used to recruit players? Or to pay off some of this bill.

Completely unfair - even if you don't like what you are hearing.
Remember, this is old news - the situation was the same in August / September and October whilst we re-structured the squad for 2010 and, let's be fair, most of us were happy with things then. The only thing that has changed this week is it becoming public knowledge - and for that I am sad as it has damaged our reputation, but if the club deal with the issue and pay the debt without it affecting the day-to-day running of the club or the stadium, then we can soon get over it.

no its not unfair, its a damn mess my club is a laughing stock again im fed up to the teeth of it is that why the entrance fee will go up to 20 quid next season.
I am starting to get a bit hacked off with all this. 1. How do we get to a point where we are over 1/3 of a million in debt with HMCR, who is responsible? How does diane think she can justify what is happening with a "no more comment" this is our club and we should demand "more comment" and seek to find responsibility amongst those who seek to shoulder none. 2. Where has the £158K cone from to reduce our liability, do we now owe it to someone else, is it the clubs money if so why wasn't it used in the first place or more worryingly where would it have gone if none of this had come to light? 3. Where is the remainder to be sought? Is it going to be another debt, is it coming from proposed player sales? I am finding myself with little trust in the people that run the club, they seek to hide, no comment is not good enough!! Recently a lot of people have given a lot of effort to help achieve something amazing for the clubs future, and now this!!!!
If you are not capable of running the club, wish to step aside, or just own up to what ever is going on, feel free, but to me, this is just not good enough!!! YOU ARE ONLY CUSTODIANS OF OUR CLUB!!
Exactly. Why have we not been paying our way.
There seems to be some pride in the comment that "we have stuck rigidly to the repayment timetable". If we had paid our way in the first place then there would be no need for a repayment timetable.
Perhaps if we can't pay pur way in Super League we should step aside and let someone else have a go. It would break my heart, but I'd rather have a Championship One club than no club at all.
