Regardless of what we think of a fight, this wasn't a fight, but a cheap unjustifiable shot, that the RFL has classed as intentional.

Ferres (and true I haven't seen it) has got a 1 match ban for something that a lot of people watching can hardly remember. A late challenge I believe.

Imo it dosent matter what the extent of the injury is, the punishment and decision should rest on the actions.

This was an unprovoked attack, a cowardly act for which he should be banned. He wasnt trying to get off the floor he punched stosic intentionally in the face, and how the RFL can say there was accidental contact with the eye, shouldnt really matter where in the face cunningham (or burger king) hit stosic, it should still represent a ban.

How he gets off scotch free, god knows. Im not angry that a saints players been let off its the consitency issue that concerns me, as i can almost guarantee latu wouldnt have got away with it. Although he can now hopefully beat, wigan, quins and huddersfield in the coming weeks, we'd all like to see that

But nothing could be more consistent. Cunningham gets away with dirty play. Again.

In that, the RFL have been perfectly consistent.

And no, I DON'T cheer a fight. It's not part of the game. The harder man is the one who takes the punch and laughs in the face of the thug who did it. When I played, I remember taking a huge swinging arm to the forehead (I was moving up in the defending line, the opposition passed the ball out of play, but the winger decided to clobber me anyway as I passed him). I got up as the referee was running over, and laughed at him. I made it clear that next time I got the ball, I was going to come straight at him, and he wasn't get past me for the whole match. We got the penalty, and I scored the first try of the match from the resulting sequence of play. The next time I got the ball, I basically ran him over as he tried to tackle me. THAT'S how Rugby League should be played, not thuggishly punching a player who tackled you legitimately just because you didn't like it.

If you're watching the sport for a fight, then switch to watching Boxing or UFC, because that's where it belongs.

Sorry, but you need to expand on that. You can't just post "utter rubbish" and expect that to stand up as some sort of defence against my point. Simple as. Try again and see if you can do any better.

FYI, it was in North West Counties League 2, we won promotion to League 1 that year.
