I think some folk need to realise we are no nearer a new stadium now then we were last week given it all relies on YC doing something they are not yet obligated to do. All this talk of what we want it to look like is way too premature
Not quite correct - they are obliged in the sense that if they don't we can block the development of the land promised for the community stadium forever and a day at not much cost.
What we seriously need is a sudden demand for units on the site - if this were to happen you'd soon see YC change their attitude.
What they want is a minimal investment in community facilities at NM whist shifting the main stadium project back to BV thus freeing up some very valuable development land at NM.
At the moment the demand simply isn't there so there is no trigger and until there is there is no obligation for YC to do anything about it.
You see NM is still possible if that trigger is reached and thus pulled however Rodney Walker realise two years back that due to how the deal was set up that could take not years but decades, something a developer can live with but a SL club can't. Hence Walkers decision on behalf of the trust to push BV to the forefront.
Our greatest enemy is timing it's as simple as that. If certain things happen then you could see BV redeveloped in literally month but the chances of that happening at the moment are remote, hence it's a waiting game. This is why news of any kind is so rare, because due to circumstance there is none.
I firmly believe we will get something out of all this in the end, unfortunately I feel it will be far less than a new stadium or even a full redevelopment of BV but it will be a start - what I don't know is when or if it will be in time.
