I'm not trying to pin anything on anybody just curious, tbh I have heard the rumour regarding sky before and dismissed it as a bit of mischief, If the council knocked it back surely it cannot have been because sky cameras could not get a good view, or was it sky who put pressure on the club and the council have never rejected any plans assuming any plans have been submitted in the first place.

Elston confirmed it was apparently sky who knocked back the idea of the full length covered terrace as it would've blocked the tv view, I asked if the camera angle could be switched to the east stand and I was told that was a no goer as the camera would be facing the sun. Of course this is all based on if you can believe a word that came of out the guy's mouth. Chances are the cost of covering the full length of the western terrace would've been very high and that's why it was not done. The 'temporary' covers already cost more than what was initially expected.

I don't think sixtogo has said anything that warrants being silenced - his original post is quite clearly an attack on the underhand tactics of the developer rather than anyone involved from the ST; that said, it's quite difficult to be critical of the process without being perceived to be being critical of the people representing the club and the supporters within that process.

I actually think he's reading the situation about right - the machinery of local government is virtually impenetrable at the best of times and despite the claims of transparency and accountability, officials will use it against you to get what they want - and they'll usually succeed. When Colin Mackie showed his hand, it became abundantly clear that there was to be no stadium, and that view was further compounded when Peter Box publicly shrugged his shoulders and said "it's nowt to do with us Guv."

I've got absolutely no faith that we'll get anything other than some kind of token hush-hush money to make improvements at BV; despite the Herculean efforts of TRB, IA et al, none of the people who can actually make it happen have shown any will to do so - as someone else has already said, the community, the club and the ST have been stitched up good and proper.

All that said - I do agree that the best approach until they've made that totally clear is to play along and not make any dramatic gestures; which is probably why TRB and co are the best people to be involved, rather than some of the more hot-headed posters on here.

Dear Bren

Don't agree with you, or not where this poster is concerned.

He has used any chance to point out his pet scenario - this is a scenario we are all aware of, not least TRB - it's also one of the more likely scenarios. No one hiding the truth.

So what and big deal.

SWAG and TRB's job isn't to accept defeat and push the negative, it's to be positive and active until such point as the battle is truly lost - it isn't yet as far as I can see.

TRB and IA may be fanatical in their belief that we deserve something but they are not stupid, they are not going to spend a large portion of their free time chasing the impossible, and to me that is the arrogance and insensitivity of "experts" like sixtogo that annoys. Though I have never suggested they can't post, but why should they post with impunity?

We are all fully aware that his pet scenario is a possibility, even a distinct one, however without the relentless efforts of TRB and IA it's an absolute certainty IMHO.

So rather than go on like some Uncle Mort character with pint truly half full, support the lads or better still help them. I mean with 25 years alleged service in planning you'd think he'd be chomping at the bit - I would, but unfortunately I only do print and design so my input isn't required for now.

Finally it's not for me to second-guess TRB's state of mind but knowing him as I do some of the barbs and negativity he gets will hurt. The guys are volunteers for heavens sake, one isn't even a Trinity fan and at the end of all this all they will either get a footnote in the clubs history or an ulcer and maybe some self satisfaction.

Thanks for your time.

I'm free!

I'm not so much hurt by the comments, as a little frustrated by them and by the inability for people to try and see the world from over here. That frustration also stems from not having been able to discuss matters publicly - which is why folk 'hit-out'.

I'm not sure what happens next. We have several ideas / options and we will review them all before any action.

Would I have done this if I'd known, 10 years ago, that this would be where we are at - too bloomin' right I would, because we at least have a case to fight with/for. Without the previous 10 years we'd certainly have nothing, and may well have been booted out of SL before now!

Michael can speak for himself, but I doubt he'd be here if there hadn't been the possibility of a new stadium, nor Glover before him!

As a supporter for going on 60 years even I find it difficult at times to 'keep faith' and look forward positively.
I think its not knowing as to whether or not we are to get anything at all out of the situation.
This is not meant to be negative , but as I see it ,enough to make considerable ground improvements, would not be failure on the part of those 'fighting the cause'.
Keep at it TRB, IA and others.

TRB - If Cas Tigers do get the go-ahead for the new site at Glasshoughton (I know alot on here think it will never happen) will your plans and options change at all?
How would such a development (if granted) affect the council's stance on Newmarket?

Same here which is why I support TRB and co.

It's not that I'm trying to crawl round him or think he's some kind of saint, heck I have my suspicions that he may even be a ginger!

But you have to admire them and IMHO no matter what your doubts these guys at the very least deserve the benefit.

Where on earth did you get obesity problem from?

I can tell you now Wakefield isn't even in the top 25 cities in the country for obesity levels let alone Europe, actually 49th on the list way behind the likes of Barnsley and Doncaster.

Do you just sit at your computer making things up?
