LBit of info for people who seem to be asking the questions.
Licensed academies will receive central fundin, unlicensed ones won’t.
Licensed academies will have their own elite competition which other academies won’t be entered in.
Un-licensed academies can apply to play friendlies against other unlicensed academies but there won’t be a structured competition apart from grade b academy/college collaboration teams
As for parching players, the rules for that remains exactly the same as it is now and will work in both directions :thumb:

Not knowing much about the Academy set up I really am confused now! We've been hoping for a licence, well I have, and now we've got one some people are worried that the likes of Cas and HKR will poach the players. For crying out loud!!! There is only us that could turn a big positive into a negative.

Normally I’d agree but these are fair questions. It not the club they have got it spot on, it’s the governing body I have an issue with

It’s a farcical system to start with so I think we’d be foolish to not be on our guard.

Do you trust the RFL to get this right?

I listened to the “Full 80 Minutes” last night, the Show was dedicated to the Academy licensing. It was interesting to see how clubs investment and rewards are recorded. As you would expect, most of the top clubs did pretty well, but was surprised how Warrington, Castleford and a couple of other clubs performed badly in the rankings. There is too much information given on the show to put on this post, but I think every rugby league fan should listen to this show, a lot of the information is quite revealing, and it obvious that Mick Gledhil put a lot of work into sorting out the information.
I’m not his biggest fan, and unfortunately he went down a notch last night by becoming emotional with the SL clubs as being greedy selfish etc so so’s. I know he’s a passionate Bull fan, but he let himself and his arguments down last night by using language terms that will loose him goodwill with some well placed people in the game. There will be some clubs that may not want to give information/interviews to him as a reporter/journalist, owing to his outbursts. His co presenter Craig Harrison, tried to reel him in a bit, but I think Gledhill has bitten the hands that feed. Just my opinion of course, and I still think fans should see the program. It’s on You Tube.

There was a video of Mick a couple of years ago, under the influence of alcohol going on a expletive laden rant at the RFL and specifically those at the top. I'm surprised the RFL still offer him work after that.

Is he a journo, is he a Bulls fan, is he a hybrid?

Journalistically its probably right to question the dubious decision to halt a proven flow from the amateur game to the professional tiers. Its a shining light in a dismal few years for the Bulls. From a fan perspective, its gut-wrenching that just about the only good thing we've been able to achieve throughout our abysmal fall from grace has been our aptitude and ability to fill our team and the wider game with young talent. I'm feeling very downbeat about the consequences, I think all Bulls fans are. So Mick wears his heart on his sleeve sometimes, c'est la vie.

To be fair, I don't mind the show but his disgust with decision is so obviously because Bradford has lost theirs, a couple of weeks ago he thought they we're nailed on to get one so unsurprisingly he did not kick up a fuss then.

I think of him as a Bulls fan first and a journo distant second so everything he says is consistent with that but I entirely take your point.

I look forward to his program every week, he along with with Harrison I find informative and entertaining, and thought he presented the information on the Academy licensing very well. He then went off the rails a bit when his emotions kicked in. Hope he reflects on hi outbursts now he’s had time to calm down.

Yet again the RFL introduced a system not fit for purpose.
Bradford Cas and HKR now given elite academy licence and good for them, so what was the process all about.

Can’t help but feel no one would’ve kicked up such a fuss if us and Hudds lost ours
