I take some heart from the fact that Saints fans are keen on seeing it respected, that the view cuts through all clubs. I would be amazed if there was a difficulty, and as for the "chavs" in front of the bottle bar, I know they are often drunk and loud, but from what I have heard it is usually good natured, and so again, I think a lot of people are worrying about nothing. It will be observed well, as they always are.

We are not chavs in front of the bottle bar, and if anyone for one minute questions whether we would disrespect it I would be offended and upset.

And we are loud in a good way we support our team and hope people will join in on Friday with the Leon Walker song

As I have said I very much doubt they will be a problem, if there is I will be amazed TBH

I have rarely heard anything more than noise from the tea bar during a minutes silence at BV.

And I doubt very much that anyone is such a low life that they would be disrespectful on this occasion in particular.

Agreed, nothing will happen bar the noise from a baby, people entering ground or coming from toilets or small kids asking whats happening. This is not disrepectful, perhaps no people should be allowed in the ground a few mins before the minute silence and imo the parents should explain whats going to happen when players enter the field.

I was defending your crowd, Adam, as I know you are part of them. The word "chavs" was in inverted commas because that was the term used in an earlier thread, not my term. I think your mob add atmosphere, and I was saying that I wouldn't expect anything disrespectful from them.

No it wasn't, it was a couple of nobs on chav corner that disrespected the silence for the Salford game. The announcer informed the fans of the minutes silence and called the names of the players we were honouring, when he finished some mindless morons called out after the silence had begun, one shouted "what about Webbo?" It doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess where they came from.

The fact that someone could consider the name of someone who is doing time because he can't control his temper in the same breath as Adam Watene abhors me, and is the only reason that this is being discussed at all. that's the first time I have ever heard a silence disrespected at BV, and probably will be the last because the people who did it would hopefully be ashamed of themselves and keep their mouths shut in future.

Yeah I know, but just making clear we are no chavs

And yeah we try our best, although we get the odd dirty look from some people. If anyone does disrespect the silence I would hope they are kicked out.
