The best way forward for the club is for such a Trust to have a significant shareholding in the club and a seat on the board, in partnership with someone with millions to waste if possible, or run without spending beyond our means, and if that means life in the Championship for a long time so be it.



If work commitments allow, I will be at this meeting.

That's the aim - share ownership and Board representation.

I've been present to two meetings and some good dialog was past but I must admit I felt out of my depth,



when dealing with the issues mention it will not take away the fact that the club needs £500 k



and the accumulation of shareholders to make of voice isn't going to change things at the club.

I agree, not against the good intentions but surely now is the time for action, we can talk all we want but if the money isn't found we wont have a club?

having a voice on the bod should influence the decision making and put new ideas up for consultation but they have to want us on or they can just ignore what is being said.



every business wastes money in some direction and a tighter control of this would make us more viable, that would stop the leakage but the tanks empty and needs filling

And this runs alongside all other issues, including the 500k, a lot of time and efforts gone into this, lets at least hear whats been proposed before "binning it".



Maybe, just maybe this will help.

As I said not knocking it, infact will be there to show my support, just worried about the situation like everyone, the answer to all Wakefields problems is getting rid of the Richardsons just not sure how that will happen.

neither am I, who ever takes over has to some kind of business sense else it will be a case of the blind leading the blind

Just to clarify ... the Supporters Trust has not come about because of the problem the Club currently has.

A group of people have been working towards this, in conjunction with Supporters Direct, for several months now.

Your support is what we need and bringing that is sufficient to begin with and will be appreciated.

I think that point needs making over and over again untill everyone understands it, its not a knee jerk group.

indeed , 2 of us attended the supporters Trust conference 2 months ago following a plea on here from Supporters Direct for delegates to attend

It may be worth setting up a facebook group for this

Please encourage every Wakefield fan you know (current fans and lapsed ones) to attend this meeting.



If we are to make this work the stronger the group we can put together and the more peole we can get involved the better it will be.



None of us want to see the club go under and if we all work together maybe, just maybe we can be the catalyst that rescues OUR club.

I now live on the sunny south coast, but would be interested in the mins from the meeting.



As far as what the group can do - in my view advise members to boycott the share options, allow the club to lapse into admin, and take over the running of the club once this has happened, I think a point of the meeting could be to start to develop a business plan to show to administrators of how the trust could run the club.

As peverse as it sounds, I agree with this. Hopefully there are enough supporters with the skills, but perhaps not the cash who could run the club to break even/make a profit, not rack up losses, and if we survive for another 130 years then it's job done.

I do not see any mention of Laura Harrison or any other person from Supporters Direct as being in attendance.Will there be any rep.from Supporters Direct to answer any questions on the 18th ?

We are not looking to establish a Supporters Trust as a mechanism to take over the Club. Its intended to be a means of improving communication between fans and the Board and aiming to achieve ST reprentation on the Board of the Club.



More information will be available on the 18th but I don't want people to see this as a propsed take over of the Club.



What happens in the fullness of time remains to be seen.
