Well yes and no. Clearly they've done well building a successful team but I'd like us to that while including our own developed players rather than buying a whole new team.

I find it hard but I agree with PT because Leigh do not operate like the majority of SL clubs because they have invested all their money on the first team by not operating a reserves for example. It should be a level playing field in SL that is you must run teams below the first and not just say you will and then postpone all fixtures because you can’t raise a team.

The Academy isn’t funded by the club, that’s a purposeful myth put forward by those for whom it suits if fans believe it to be so.

The Academy is funded by a lump sum payment from the RFL, bolstered by further kickbacks for Academy graduates becoming Super League squad members and further funded by annual payments from College for each Academy player who completes his course.

Not quite correct. I looked it up on Google

The current funding model sees every academy receive around £100,000 of base funding, with a reward on top of that depending on how productive the academy is. Clubs then had to match that funding, which didn't include player wages. Finney estimated that Widnes' academy was costing around £450,000 a year to run.

Makes us the only Sl team out of the current 12 not to reach a final during the SL era. I bet that’s a stat IMG will be interested in.

No. Lachlan lam is a quality player, but 200k a year will get you that won’t it. Ipape is quality and Leigh got him for a steal at 60k a year, though no surprise he’s off back to the NRL. Asiata also possibly going back. Think that sums up how good that team is this year.
