I think when you're a parent it's quite easy to be blinkered when it comes to your own child's team. Whilst it may be amusing to ridicule other clubs and coaches, I think you need to remember that it's an amateur sport and the coach in question gives up a lot of his own time to coach these kids, as well as being a parent himself. I know for a fact he will do anything to look after those players, and I don't think you can ask for anymore than that, regardless of whether you're Crigg, Eastmoor or anyone else. I think anyone who gives up their own time deserves a little bit more respect than bashing on a public forum, especially when you've given as much to the game as him and his family.

As you said, they're also struggling to get a full side together each week. Trust me, it's not much fun when, as a 9/10/11 year old, you turn up on a match day not really knowing whether you'll have enough players to actually start the game. And then you get comments like "in fact just coming home with nothing stolen is a bonus". If someone comes on here and is thinking of taking their kids to a local club, they would not take them to Eastmoor when they read things like that. And then you wonder why they turn up with 12 players. It's a shame, as Eastmoor is a cracking club. I know how frustrating junior rugby can get, but I think people need to remember that it is just that, junior rugby.

I agree there is nothing wrong with Eastmoor and when my lad played there short of a full side we still had some good times. its when you get to under 12s upwards do you have to have a full squad.

there are coaches that take it a bit further than coaching and end up upsetting parents trying to become that league coach through the children, one that I know of has already lost one player to us and a few others going as well.

having limited player movements is there also to stabilise clubs as kids could just pick up sticks and all move to another club.

that happen in our year with stanningley who now come under another name but can't play in the Yorkshire juniors as the have been banned for doing it, only a couple of good sides in that league

yes i must agree and not once does any credit ever get given to the opposition on the reports.

some coaches need to step back and remember that to be a fine winner you must take defeat on the chin . i would rather my lad be a good loser than a bad winner.

never once as 1 report pointed out the opposition quality and always as to have to have a dig "stanley just used big guys" "they had more subs" "the ref was poor" ....like some one said they are kids  .

anyway its big boys next year , im sure eastmoor will be in the mix some fine prospects

If I remember correctly, the rules on transferring between clubs were drawn up due to Stanley Rangers pulling together the entire Yorkshire side from different clubs at Under 15 level around 16 years ago. Most of the players then went on to sign for Halifax I think. Chris Chester was the star player.

I think all the sqaud signed for halifax initially, there was a connection with one of the parents I beleive, out of that side (from memory) only Chester really "made it" with Hobson, Molyneux and a couple of odd others scratching out a career mainly in the lower division.

Molyneux was the year below, and I thought he started out at Sheffield, although I may be wrong. The scrum half (Robinson I think) also did okay in the lower leagues. Jon Wells didn't do too bad either.

according to what i have learnt..and i may be wrong..but if they have registered with another club they will need a transfer and these won't go through until the yorkshire junior league receive the money for registration.
