Since I posted this I have just read that Salford are close to signing Mossop and Tasi close to signing for Salford.

Could that mean that Kopzcak out of contract could well be on his way out. Wales captain, leader, close working relationship with JK

I will be honest here regarding Hall, Tansey and Scruton. I was never their biggest fans.

I wasnt their biggest fans but think in Brown and Grix think we have replaced tgem quite well.

We havent in my opinion yet replaced Scruton. He would be 3rd or 4th on my list if I was listing our props in quality and effort. England, Fifita and maybe even Simon would be ahead of him.

What he does have is experience at the highest level. With that and the uncertainty regarding Kirmos match fitness following his injuries, could we be looking for a possible new captain for 2017.

With this in mind I think we should make sure we get the right players in rather than the thoughts of Bailey etc.

Get it right in this and we have got the makings of a really good squad.

Need a player as Captain who is likely to be in the 17 week in week out and who leads from the front next season...IMHO that should be Matty Ashurst.

Kopzcak is under contract at Salford next year and his wife has said on twitter that he is staying there.

Yes Ashurst would be a good shout.

Even thought about Miller and Williams but a new partnership plua an added burden not always good.

I thought Kopzcak was off contract and dont recall seeing him extend his deal.

We can see who wears the pants in that partnership.

Ashurst is a great player but I don't see him as a captain.

I'd pick Finn if he is still paying every week.
If not him I'd happily have Miller. When he has taken the captaincy temporarily he has played like his life was at stake.

I don't get that captain feeling from anyone else to be honest.
If Kirmond isn't playing we need to find one......and I never really thought he was a good on field captain.

Yes Kirmond when he was made Captain, he was one of those that led by example but as injuries have pilled up and then his form dropped , I don't think him being Captain has done him any favors. The Club will probably make a decision near the end of pre-season I'd have thought. Tbh I don't think Miller's a bad call at this point.

He signed a two year deal when he joined.

I'd like to see how he does with a pre-season, but Keegan Hirst could be up on the list of possible captains. He's done a good job as captain at Batley and if he fits in well and can motivate the lads on the pitch then he could be worthy of the title
