Do you think it is OK to ask supporters to sit around all night and wait for the news, the event is a total damp squib and no amount of talking it up will make it so.

AG did his best to get a bigger venue, How many on here thought that many people would turn out..??

Yes they may of talked it up, but ay he is a sales man and a good one and give him time and backing, and I truely think he can take us forward... come on "Together We Are Stronger" :D

They obviously didn't expect such a massive turnout which can't really be helped. Do you expect them to crush people into a room not adequate to hold them and risk people's H & S? They didn't ask anything, you were free to leave at any point, they offered to show you exactely the same as others had seen because they value you as a supporter

What you make of the news is your opinion, but i'd suggest maybe you have a break from the computer and spend some time with your family, and when you've calmed down post in a reasonable and constructive manner

Very patronising....................But good!! :D

The club announcement built up expectations along with peoples hopes ie silkwood park Parkin and his millions which is why people feel underwhelmed. The news is good if it means we meet all the requirements to get a new licence then why are some people not happy.

I think there might be a case of schadenfreude with some of the cas fans posting on this thread. Just a check on their other vile forum they use shows what nasty little things they might have planned to put on a popular video sharing website.

Yes, Newmarket is still a priority, but PI will not be sorted til May next year. AG is upgrading BV to make it as near compliant as possible for 2012 for the RFL.

Yes the RFL as got clubs fans back biting each other, over this, I think a united front from all of the rugby league family, march on red hall and say enough is enough, bring back P AND R, and fine clubs that do not up grade the grounds...??

Because on the surface of it, it just looks like another attempt at swaying a decision but nothing to follow it up with, even if AG has every intent of pulling this off, to fans of other clubs it is just same old wakey.

I might have heard something.

Wakefield cannot add to the document they submitted on April 1. That is what the licensing decision will be made on. How can this, or any, announcement make a difference? That is why there was a deadline so that clubs could be judged over the 3 years and not some cobbled together idea a month before the franchise decision.

Re: NEWS FROM TONIGHT'S BIG MEETING : Wed Jun 08, 2011 9:58 pm
I’ve waited until I’ve calmed down and thought about tonight before posting. Underwhelming was and still is the initial thought; however it could also turn out to be a master stroke.

Everyone talks about Cas’s PR machine and tonight we played the same game, sure people will be upset at being asked to give more money to the club (a lot of fans will have already given close to 300quid to the club already) but it shows the club’s desire to fight. But almost as importantly, it makes a massive mockery of the RFL’s 5000 box ticking target if a glorified lottery scheme counts towards it. All I can say is well done to Wakefield exploiting for this.

As for redeveloping Belle Vue, it is so good to see that the club again are doing something about the current state to fight for that super league place. However more questions come of this than answers, and hopefully they’ll be answered before much longer. These include: DO we need to apply for planning permission and if we do surely it’s too late to count now? Will they get done without a Super League Licence? Who are the other investors that are working with Glover to develop them?
