Lino will be a great SH if we can get a good enough SO to play alongside him.
Miller wasn't consistent enough to mould a good half back pairing with Lino - IMO, Since then he's had numerous makeshift SO's - all barely championship standard - so he's on his own at HB!
He's quick off the mark and doesn't shirk his tackling, and on his day a great goal kicker.
Good signing and hopefully a key to others following!
Miller, Smith, Gaskell, Jowitt, Langi - all tried along side him and all seemed the issue but Lino has been the constant. Maybe it’s his play style that the other half’s struggle with? It is a little bit Leo-Latu esque if anyone remembers him. Good player but nobody had a clue what he was going to do (even him).
I’m not saying all those halves were good though. Just that it’s always the other halfback that’s no good no matter who that it it seems.
I’m still sceptical but hopefully Lino comes up with the goods. I don’t want him leading the team round the park though. He needs to be the supporting half, hopefully Gale adds that or Smith can have greater influence when called upon as he gets more game time.
