Excuse my ignorance, but what is LDF?
Looked it up on Wiki .
Many definitions such as Lesotho Defence Force and Lyme Disease Foundation plus possible ones such ac Local Development Framework.
The last one.
Exactly what it says in the name. A framework for local development.
Which looks favorably on NM as a method of meeting central government requirements for economic expansion & development in specific areas of industry- in this case warehousing & distribution. In specific areas of our region (M62).
It also covers a vast amount of other issues- from traveler sites to areas for new affordable housing.
Because it's so big (a 10 year plan) it takes time to implement, some areas are already in place, but as the TRB said "we should always be ready for a fight".
In terms of the bit we care most about (NM) this is an important piece in the construction for the reasoning, but what we should take greater comfort in is the fact the argument that is being used by WMDC and Yorkcourt is far more comprehensive than the LDF alone, as is comprised of demonstrating the need, suitability and sustainability of all the NM has to offer.
Lets not forget how poor some of our opposition were in the town hall last year, since then our case has been progressively made more "water tight" whilst our opposition have lost key cornerstones of their argument by Yorkcourt working with statutory agencies (highways, yorkshire ecology, natural england) to refine/amend the design of the site to meet the needs/resolve issues raised by statutory agencies.
We're in a good place, but nowhere near home and dry.
