... But the club won't address some of the issues why some are staying away.
1 - Alcohol served during the match causes some people to be not nice and they put some people off coming along
2 - Stewarding still is not as good as it should be
3 - Sky matches limit our attendances unfortunately (not clubs fault) but the more we are on sky, the less people attend
These have all been brought up previously, and I still see little change. I am one of these fans who live a long way away and don't attend as often as I could. The lout atmosphere in the crowd at times, and the reported trouble around the ground at some matches - these don't inspire Wakey residents to come out of their houses. A new way of thinking is needed next season or they will continue to have these attendances.
Sorry if you don't like to hear these points spelled out, but its how I see it.
Yes they are all fair points and i can see why it would put some off and i don't know the answer to them. If they sort the stewarding out and stop the beers sales this will cost the club money short term at least.
That may work in the long term, i don't know. Im not 100% sure the Wakey public would come out of hiding but WE DO NEED TO DO SOMETHING.
Theres been a few posts on another related thread about a pub in Horbury is used to visit, they banned all the dodgy/ruff element and had very few customers for months (nearly went under) due to taking this stand. Now its the best pub in the town and very busy.
Sorry for going down memory lane but it kind off backs up your post.
This seems to be going rapidly off thread, so.....
I can't wait for next season, it looks like a monster pack, strong threequarter line (still a little bit of strengthening going on also) and a lot of talented halves. Also looking forward to seeing these youngsters given a chance, they should learn a lot this year from the senior players.
Usualy Im a bit glass half full, but my glass, it brimeth over!!!

Well its related with players and attendances = squads but yes it is straying.
If the club want to increase the gates they are going about it the wrong way
Its time for a radical gamble, either reduce the prices on match day to say £15 esp for the games that are on sky and those against clubs with no support (catalans, crusaders London etc)
The season ticket for a kid is £30 odd quid with away games why not make it £2 for kids at all games, get them in a shirt get etc and the club makes the money, charging £20 in a deprived area is not the way forward at this time if we were a more sucessful club on the pitch then yes but you have to speculate at some time. I do not see it from the board I am afraid.

I believe a kids season ticket for home and away next season is £15 upto 16 I think, but your right on the rest, way too expensive, I was only paying £25 to watch Newcastle in the premier league two years ago, granted it was above cloud level, but it still makes £20 at BV look poor value!!!
Gone off thread again, sorry!!!!
T.B.H. I’m sick to death of hearing whether DB will stay or go.
Posters have been coming on here saying he’s been offered a really good contract, the highest ever in our history, some say. Well if he / his agent can broker a better deal elsewhere, so be it.
On his day, he can be inspirational and would be a big loss, but, to have one player on a much greater salary than the rest will cause unrest in the camp. Look at Leeds, by the sound of it there’s no player on a king’s ransom and, neither as a club should we.
On paper, we have a cracking pack next year, and the back line isn’t too bad either, all done on a shoestring. But, I hope the DB thing is put to bed one way or another & soon, so we can move on and look forwards to improving on this years efforts.
At the end of the day, our franchise bid won’t be based on whether D.B is playing for us or not. We could get to the G.F but Tennis boy, his rotund assistant and the rest of the clowns at Red Hall will still kick us out, without any movement regarding sitting on a plastic seat.

Could not agree more.
I hope he stays but if he thinks he can get a better deal elsewhere then take it and bu88er off and let us get on with planning the future of the club.
No one is bigger than Wakefield Trinity and as much as I respect DB as a player he need to decide what he wants. I appreciate that it is a job and his livelihood so I would have no ill feelings if he goes but for God's sake make up your mind and get on with it.
